Polk Audio RM6751 Satellite Speaker (Single)

or

Fluance AV-BP2 Bipolar Surround Sound Satellite Speakers

...I like the idea of bipole speakers for surrounds and the fluance are at a great price. But its not my living room they would be going into!

Acoustech H-100 Cinema Series 500-Watt Front-Firing Subwoofer

or

JBL Venue Series SUB12 12-Inch 500-Watt Subwoofer

...the BIC is a little better quality but the JBL is still BA (bad ass) and a little less.

I mean the Polk set I ordered yesterday. If I got say... 2 Polk Audio Monitor 50 2-Way Floorstanding Speakers to fill in the gap, would that be alright while waiting on buying the center... or conversely, if I bought the
Polk Audio Monitor Series CS2 Center Channel Speaker, would they work with the current sides. I'm going to assume yes, because you told Collectors the Polk Audio RM6751 Satellite Speaker plays well with them as sides.

well, all speakers would work with each other, the issue comes into timber matching. Which is why its important to match the fronts and center.

But in your case... me, I would get fronts...then the center. Just in case you wanna jam out to music.

For those that have this receiver.... How high do you usually turn up your speakers when watching a movie with this when you want it loud? Also if using a PS3 what does your receiver say when watching a movie, mine says PCM 48? I was wondering if others are different. I usually watch a movie around 35-40 (sometimes higher) ...just wondering what others did?

I have the 710... I am usually at 45-50 and its pretty loud... live free or die hard was really loud the other day I was at 42. It says PCM because your PS3 is doing the decoding for the HD auido and sending a PCM signal over to your receiver. Your receiver cannot decode DD true HD or DTS-HD MA, so you have to send the audio out via LPCM from the PS3 in order to get the Lossles s audio.

Mine says the same thing but that's normal. I usually watch movies between 25-35 depending on the mix (I also live in an apartment though).

I have the 820. Cable I usually keep it around 20. Movies, I'll usually put it up around 25-30. I started watching Superman Returns at 38 once, and the GF yelled at me to turn it down when she came home because she could hear it outside the door of the apt.

Oops.

No, that's about right. I liked around 40-45 for movies on my old Onkyo receiver.

It would be nice to see a standard for volume displays on all receivers as a cool way to compare volume levels with other users with different speakers or different wattage receivers.

When im watching a Blu-ray or playing games going anywhere past 30 is pushing it ive yet to go pass 40 yet with this reciever and when i was on 35 once that was by mistake and it scared the be-jesus out of me ....That what i get for have 13 speakers hooked up to a 7.1..Sad thing is im just starting to get a legit set of speakers now ( as of now im using a collage of different speakers from various stereos and Htib's setups) I got my SS-b1000's for my rears and my SS-cn5000 for my center just waiting on my ss-F6000 for my fronts then i will hook all them up once i get the whole set and then it will be even louder.....and i can throw those other speakers in the trash....o and lets not forget the yamaha sub in the corner for good measure
