I can see the wholesale cost on this set, and Amazon is paying $59.99 per copy so at this point, every copy sold is losing money, not sure why Walmart decided to go so low here...

As long as we're saving money, who cares?

The new price point is so tempting that even The Lost World and JPIII haters will still jump on this.

If you sell the codes you’re only looking at about $5 per movie. Damn good deal.

Well I hope the discs arrive undamaged by the lame packaging; I've got a bunch of extra UHD cases that can be used to store the discs better. Can maybe print some cool jackets for each of them too.

Don't know anyone who sells catalog title codes (or any single movie codes) for $7 each. TV shows maybe, or a brand new in-demand film. But not catalog titles. I sell mine for $5 each and that's typically high.

I went ahead and ordered. For me, this is probably just a "rental". I would like to watch the sequels on UHD BD (unless credible reports are poor beforehand and I will cancel), but really only want to own the first movie. So, I'll end up selling off the codes and then the set after watching all four movies...only to eventually buy the first movie at a low price when it's individually released down the road.

Even five sounds optimistic. Maybe during release week but I've been lucky to get more than about 3.50 per uhd code.

YES! NOW CAN WE GET BEST BUY TO MATCH?

Also, I just made $5 with this price point, I bet that it would drop to $49.99 before release. I think that a Black Friday type of price for this would be $34.99, I couldn't see it every being lower without some kind of special sale.

Probably because Blu-ray.com Forum Approved™ doesn't have quite the same ring to it.

Sweet price but I was going to go for the BB steel. Might have to rethink that.

Oh... I was about to say "Well it rules me out I don't want the set" because in general I know 4K UHD won't be like blu-ray where all my collection will be it. So shelf space aint no thing. In fact I want most on little plastic stands... So sets are unappealing! But this offers me a path to individual titles that won't break the bank

Tried to get a price match at BB and here is what they said,

"Best Buy isn't typically able to price match a competitor's price on an identical product until it is released."

Is that true?

UPDATE: Just followed through with customer service and it is a FACT, BB does not price match on Pre-Orders. They did tell me endlessly that if it drops to a lower price than what's listed, that I'd get that price. I know that...... lol

I like spending my money at BB over other competitors. Do you think that it will stay at $49.99 for release and I should wait and get it at BB, or throw my money at Wal-Mart or Amazon.

;(

Lock in the Amazon pre-order now, if BB ever matches then you can always cancel the Amazon order and get it from BB instead.

Wait, really? I’ve sold pretty much all of my UHD codes for at least $7, some event went for $9 or $10. Catalog and brand new titles.
