Twilight Time Discussion Thread - Page 1414 - Blu-ray Forum

Fellas, please do not go into a thread dedicated to a label and post announcements of the same titles from a competing label, even if that competing label is overseas. This applies to any label thread at blu-ray.com. It is no different here than going into, say, the Arrow or Kino Lorber threads and announcing the release of a region-free European release (or vice versa) from a competitor. Each label has its own dedicated thread. I realize you are all just sharing information. However, this is a policy of these forums (although i make no promises it has been consistently applied in all cases across the forum).

You could donate TT blu rays to the site. Apparently, due to a spat a few years back, they're no longer getting free review copies.

I understand. I posted news of a set that I thought might be of interest to readers of this thread, especially since it included films that hadn't been released anywhere yet.

My apologies, and it won't happen again. Keep up the good work.

The founder of TT and one of this site's reviewers (not JMK, who was a regular TT reviewer) got into it a while back, and as retaliation, TT stopped providing screeners to the site. Unfortunately, I think that if the situation were going to improve, it would have happened by now.

Has anybody ever asked about KING RAT? This isn't a movie that was on my radar at all, but I caught it this morning on the Sony Movie Channel, and it really seems up Twilight Time's alley. It's a solid entry into the "bleak black-and-white prisoner-of-war camp" movie subgenre.

...not sure what kind of drama is stirring up but I have not personally seen anything deragorory being posted about TT or its principals by anyone from the staff.

I am a moderator and the moderation has zero involvement with reviews

. However, my understanding is that TT sends screeners to Jeff and he reviews them. Only Jeff (that I know) can specifically comment on the output of TT reviews.

Jeff does handle other labels and he must have a way of prioritizing his work...once again I cannot “speak” for Jeff

Curious what you are looking for in terms of what you get out of a review here.

Outside of screen caps, I rarely seem to find there is much consistnty in the rating system amoung different viewers.

I know you can't speak for Jeff, but are you sure he's receiving screeners? And if so, can you contact him to find out why they're not being reviewed? I did a quick search and the last Twilight Time review I could find was Our Man In Havana which was posted on April 14th... of 2017!

There's been a lot of great releases over the past year that have not been reviewed.

Does anyone know if the autographed Doctor Dolittle discs have shipped yet from Screen Archives? Auto Focus was part of my order so I know there will be a little hold up just based on the delay on that one.

I received my autographed copy on April 9. I did not have any pre-orders, though.
