I should include the Blackadder DVD's. I have all four series, and none of the discs have any extras which is a shame. The ones I have were the original DVD releases - I don't know if the re-packaged versions include anything.

Yes, me too mate, along with the other David Jason & Ronnie Barker classic Open All Hours.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I never took to Dad's Army despite there being some great comedy actors in it. It's probably one of the few old BBC comedies I never really cared for.

Same here. Never watched a full episode. Same with Last Of The Summer Wine although my uncle (who has passed away) used to love it so I have seen a few clips.

I used to enjoy Last Of The Summer Wine, at least when I was watching it in the 1980's. I have seen re-runs of the earlier series from the 70's which I thought were good too, but I stopped watching it about the mid-90's or thereabouts when the regular cast were gradually disappearing. I did try watching the occasional newer episodes, but it just wasn't the same to me somehow. Sorry to hear about your uncle mate.

Cheers, he loved Columbo also.

For me, it ties into happy childhood memories and my favourite times (ages 5-11) also those long summer holidays playing billy bulldog, tig, hide and seek and footy. Those times seek like an eternity ago how.

This part I do miss - 6 or 7 weeks summer holiday from school. And even then I used to complain they weren't long enough.

When I was a kid, I couldn't wait to finish school (as probably most kids did back then) and start working, but I always remember my dad telling me to make the most of it because when I reached his age, I'd look back at my childhood and wish I could relive it again......well he wasn't far wrong.

Used to dash my tea down so I could get back out to play lol.

Everything seemed so magical back then.

It doesn't appear to mention anywhere about an official confirmation, but most websites seem optimistic and say that the scripts are being written.

Sometime during the late 70s/early 80's, the BBC used to show Laurel & Hardy round about tea time on certain days. When I was at high school, I finished at 4.00 pm, and it took me an hour or so to get home as I had to catch the bus. Then it was about a 10 minute walk from the bus stop to my house, so I used to run like hell to catch the film while having tea.

After that, it was homework......

Yeah, the dreaded homework.

Can you remember the old black and white serials getting a rerun in the 80’s? The cliffhangers Like Flash Gordon and The Rocket Man?

I vaguely remember them being on at the time, but no, I'm afraid I didn't see either of them. I'd probably get a better chance to see them now if they were ever repeated, but that probably won't happen. Far easier to repeat things like Homes Under The Hammer every single day.

Yeah, what a bloody tedious show that is. Sometimes on on my days off and I just turn tv off lol.

Honestly, I never realised how bad daytime programmes were until I had a brief stay in hospital last year and watched the TV that was in the ward. As well as Homes/Hammer, there was some crap about a woman who hoarded stuff in her house, another programme about searching for bargain antiques, then another antique-type show where some guys were buying stuff in fairs and auctioning them off, followed by some cookery show.........crikey, I was glad when they discharged me.

I like Gordon Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares mind. The U.K. ones were good although they were on in the evening however. If I’m off work, I tend to put the tv on for an hour during the day then turn it off until about 6pm. If I’m not going out (I’m a home bird mostly) I also do some gaming. Obviously I like to get a few fillms under my belt also.

.....and soaps were few and far between. Even the commercials were better years ago.

Brookside was a good soap though. Very daring for its time.
