Stat wise your team is better. Player wise there's no chance. Think this is better talked about in that thread

Not sure how Roland feels, but I think that says more about Montreal than anything here.

It could be. I don't pay attention to kph. I didn't even notice he said kph either.

I agree it's the system, not the person. How can you be a good cop and just give pointers on better driving without giving a ticket and then have nothing to show the boss at the end of the day. Most have quotas to make, and ticket revenue is part of income. Its that yin/yang thing.

I do have a beef with getting a ticket if a tail-light is out. You can check it one day (I was an auto mechanic at one time), and the next day one of the lights is out and you get a fine anyway. I love having a job at runs till 1am so I am the only car on the road. There is no way of being 100% sure. Blame the car maker for that one. A warning lamp should come on and the seat belt-buzzer should sound. Otherwise we will never know if we are breaking the law.

Some 'misdemeanors' I have seen cops pull.
  • Not wearing a seat belt.
  • Comming to a rolling stop at a stop sign.
  • Drifting over the yellow line in two-way traffic.
  • Shaving long lights.
  • And - driving with a tail light out

I don't at all disagree with cops issuing tickets for traffic offenses. When I was saying that I've seen first hand how the job can change some people... I was referring to much uglier human behavior.

I dirve within posted limits, so there is no problem with speeding tickets, just tail-lights. Just give me 360 peripheral vsion so when I look streight ahead at the car in front of me, I can see when one of thoes little lights behind the car goes out.

Our car is our ticket to freedom, but is usually the only time most of us will have a run-in with the law.

Human nature is a strange thing indeed. If the other guy gets a ticket, he pays a fine, it's a good thing to make the road safer. If we get a ticket, we take it to court. We vote for strict anti drug laws for schools, and then hire the best lawyer we can afford if our kids get caught with the stuff.

to the op, eventhough you may have endured an extra 30 mins of driving, i think it offsets the possiblity of getting a ticket. i drive w/ a heavy foot so, i'm always on the look out of unmarked and mark cars while zooming in the fast lane.
