One of my top 5 Bond films of all time - can't wait.

Definetly see it again. The movie moved so fast that you miss much with just 1 viewing. I was really disapointed the first time I saw it, but I have now seen it 4 times and it gets better with every viewing. I still don't like the quick cuts during the action scenes, but the story and characters come across as much more developed after the initial viewing.

Sony bought controlling interest in MGM around 04/05. Part of the arrangement is that Columbia Pictures (Sony) would oversee distribution of Bond 21 (CR), Columbia and MGM would share distribution for Bond 22 (QoS) and Bond would return to MGM for Bond 23.

I'm disapointed that the DVD/Blu Ray will not feature deleted scenes such as the original ending that was shot and ultimately decided not to be used.

No doubt they will appear in a "Collector's Edition" to be released around the time of Bond 23.

That's a good description of the movie-- I enjoyed it (liked Casino Royale
better) but wanted to start seeing the "trademarks" of Bond films--Bond
quips, the typical good-bad Bond girl, the insane and slightly over-the-top
villain that's not just a slimy thug like in QOS, Daniel Craig is what made
this movie good---he's a great Bond, maybe the best since Connery.
I have enjoyed all of the Bond movies, clearly some are classics and some are not but they are all entertaining and worth owning.

I love Craig as Bond, my favorite next to Connery easily. I hope his last 2 films might be on par with CR.

I initially didn't like this film on initial viewing but i've grown to like it on subsequent viewings.

First of all the criticism of it being "James Bourne" is valid. They did try to make it a bit to competitive to Bourne. However if you look past that, you'll see a pretty good film.

The basic storyline is infiltrating the organization and finding solace over Vesper. Bond goes through all this and yes his character evolves throughout the film.

While not the most interesting characters, the story itself is pretty good.

Agreed. The story is pretty good but hard to follow the first time you see it because the movie moves so damn fast.

The action cuts really screamed Bourne (afterall the 2nd unit director was Dan Bradley who was the 2nd unit on 2 of the BOurne movies), but rest of the movie itself was not Bourneish.

I hope Best Buy will have the Quantum of Solace Blu-ray in the collectible steelbook packaging when it's released. That would be so sweet!!

When i first saw this, i didn't like it at all, but after if you think about it, it's not that bad. It just doesn't feel like bond and the action scenes were just kind of like randomly put togethor and i thought it was a bit boring. Maybe if it didn't bear the name James Bond and 007, it would suit the film better. I would give this a 7/10, it was good, just don't expect a masterpiece.

I luckily didn't read much of the above message (I stopped when I saw it was about the ending). If you are going to post that, please make a note that it is a spoiler. Especially since you are talking about the ending. Just looking out for people like me that haven't seen the movie yet at all. Thanks...

I really liked the movie and this is definitely a day one buy for me. I think a few of the other posters hit it on the head that this was made for the sole purpose of setting up Craig as the Bond we all know and love. It really did have a lot of setup in the film and the pacing just made it hard to see on the first viewing. The producers are definitely on the right path with the character so bring on Bond 23.

Have seen it four times in theatres...so far.

All over this BD, though I'm kind of wary about FOX/MGM distributing. What are the odds we see a 'DIGITAL COPY SPECIAL EDITION!!!!' banner across the top? Blech.
