Kilmonger was an exceptional villain.

As was Vulture.

A little smashing may get the job done against some of Hulk's opponents but doesn't go very far against the ones who can actually fight.

At least it took them ten years to finally get Thor right. Dude took a f*cking dying star to the chest and lived.

He's more powerful/stronger than Thanos because Thor brought him down to his knees with Stormbreaker when he plunged it through Thanos' chest.

And yet people actually like how they treated The Mandarin in Iron Man 3. What a major letdown for a potentially awesome villain.

You know what the worst part is? Even LEGO made the villain better than the movie did -- from it's own merchandise!

In the long run a real Mandarin with Ten Rings of alien power would have made Thanos less impressive.

Hela was great, Thor basically had to give up even after his power within realization.

Thanos is by far the most powerful, three dimensional villain in all of the MCU. He is miles better than the countless, underdeveloped and completely forgettable villains of Marvel films past.
Zemos motivation was clear, was well thought out, executed, and still has impact of the state of the team up through IW.

The whole MCU villain criticism is cliche.

There have been more good antagonists than bad.

Recent MCU villains have only been good lately because Marvel Studios is starting to take the criticism of weak villains seriously. Kevin Feige even addressed this before.

That's just like, your opinion, man.

I haven't hated a single villain in these movies. I'm even down with Justin Hammer dancing his ass around a stage to mess with Tony as an okay thing to watch.

So now it boils down to "The villain in this movie has to be garbage to make another villain good in that movie." Well, R.I.P. Iron Man 3.

Iron Man 3 is "mild" garbage for reasons outside the villain.

THIS.

Him, Hela, Kilmonger, Red Skull, Thanos and Vulture (from what I've seen) are great villains. Even the baddie from Doctor Strange is good.

True. Zemo tore the Avengers apart more than Ultron could have possibly imagined

Which one? You talking about Mads Mikkelsen's character? I guess. I'm spoiled by his performance as Hannibal Lecter.

Yeah, him. At least he had a clear motivation.

Been wanting to see Hannibal for a while. A lot of things to watch.

All of the Phase 3 villains have been great. Why you ask? Because Marvel made them sympathetic. They had good intentions with bad actions. Their goals were relatable. It made you sympathize with them.

You have to watch Hannibal. I say this a lot, but it makes The Silence of the Lambs look like child's play by comparison. Mads Mikkelsen easily tops Sir Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter. People say the best villains are the ones who are sympathetic and understand their motives. Not Mads Mikkelsen's Hannibal Lecter, though. He is evil as f***, yet you still root for him more than any other character on the show. Now THAT'S what a great villain does.

Phase 3 has been amazing. The only movie in phase 3 that I'm iffy about is Guardians 2, but I still rewatch it frequently. I'm not big on Black Panther either but I can still see why it has become a fan favorite.

Vulture, Killmonger, Hela and Thanos are getting all the love, but Ego was damn good too.
