His suit was replaced, I believe originally he had the black and silver suit for the ending in the Snyder cut. Whedon went blue and red for an instant win with audiences, not to mention the original theme music playing when he appears.

In the deleted scenes he walks past the black suit but does not choose it. This was shot by Snyder not Whedon. So he would never have worn it in any version of the movie.

This is Snyder's weakness, his ambition can sometimes outmatch his talents and skills. He's a visual director, when he relies on them he can get a lot across. Much like his intro scenes to Sucker Punch and Watchmen. He needs to rely less on dialogue. BVS is dialogue heavy and is a poor effort. His visual moments are grand and I find them almost hypnotically beautiful. |

Aquaman is due for release later this year and Shazam is currently shooting. Rumours are Man of Steel 2 will be announced soon and Margot Robbie confirmed Birds of Prey is still being worked on. DC also have New Gods in active development so there are plenty of DC movies still to come.

Cavil teased the black suit on twitter awhile back. Snyder loves to copy moments and costumes from the comics. Killing superman and bringing him back in the black and silver would have been a classic Snyder move. I don't think that deleted scene tells the whole story. And the fake look of the CGI suit would be explained if they had to change it from the black one to the red and blue one. This is all speculation, I don't think we'll ever know what Snyders true cut of the film would have been.

Prior to release I kept hearing "They're gonna use the Williams theme!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Then when it comes in the movie it lasts 2.5 seconds and you can barely hear it ![]() ![]() Seriously? Theres so much they could have done: Scene: JL is starting to get their butts kicked. (Cue Music) "Dun dun dun..." (trees blowing by) Batman being subdued. (More music) Dun dun dun, dun dun dun (blur streak in the sky) Wonder Woman being subdued (Louder Music) DUN DUN DUN DAHHHHH (Pair of red boots hit the ground) Superman: "Need a hand?" or whatever some quippy line and then BOOM-- Superman starts kicking ass. Why is this such a difficult thing to do?? |

The truth of why the blue and red suit looks like trash is actually much more simple. The costumes, including their colors, materials, and added padding are designed with the camera, effects, and color timing all calculated in. So the suit is exactly the same one Snyder filmed, but Whedon brightened the colors and overall brightness of the film. When this was done, the chrome pieces under the blue "skin" became visible, and WB just didnt care anymore. Looking at the Superman and Alfred scene, the chrome is much less visible since it is color corrected by Snyder. If we get the Snyder cut, it will look much better, that is for sure. |

Rumours are there are lots more scenes featuring Steppenwolf and his motivations but they are on the cutting room floor after Whedon and Warner Bros hacked the movie to pieces to make it less than two hours. The studio wanted the run time shorter for more showings not realising the film was going to get horrible reviews and awful word of mouth even though they knew they were alienating a large portion of the established fanbase by trying to Marvelise the whole thing. People may knock Batman v Superman but it made a very solid profit proving that for all the internet hate and critical disdain it had an audience who wanted to see that story continue and a follow up that kept the same style laid down by Man of Steel and Batman v Superman.

He has a lot of backstory in the comics and from what I have read there was a lot more footage shot so I guess until that ever gets released he will be right up there with the worst comic movie villains. The entire movie is a catalogue of errors and it will always be known as the one the studio butchered in an attempt to copy their rivals.

I watched this in: 1st time: HDR10 2nd time: 3D 3rd time: Dolby Vision So, either it took me 3 watches to realize how bad the villain was, or maybe it was the Dolby Vision presentation that ruined it for me |
