Would love to see them take on Prayer of the Rollerboys. One of my ultimate wish list titles.

I remember seeing SPLIT SECOND on the shelf in various video stores back in the early '90s but never looked beyond the kinda unappealing artwork - plus I'm not that huge a pure Sci Fi fan. I prefer Sci Fi when it's blended in with other genres (Predator, Alien, etc).

Now that MVD has announced it, I've checked out the trailer and read a little bit about it and I'm on board. This looks like a totally fun movie, keeping in line with the Sunday matinee fare of stuff like Black Eagle and The Return of Swamp Thing. I'm down for an Action/Horror/Sci-Fi mix for sure...and Rutger Hauer too? Very nice.

We did not make any changes so it's probably still there. Sorry. Plus, making edits would have thrown off the commentary.

I was also told by Sheldon that it really isn't an official "director's cut". At some point foreign buyers added / edited deleted scenes and stuff into the film and made it longer and more overseas friendly. The official cut is the theatrical version.

Would you guys be able to release these movies on blu-ray ??

I think Paradise might be with Lionsgate, could you guys please rescue it from them ?

Thanks and keep up the good work !
Dude, beautiful post. I love all of the artwork. Reminds me of a video store wall!

I'll start digging into these and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the suggestions.

Here's hoping you can somehow make a new transfer for it, as the current HD master, while serviceable, could be a hell of a lot better.
I'll take a look at the master. I'm not sure if MVD was given access to the negative. But I will check.

No disrespect to the filmmaker of Nemesis 5 but I passed on this as an acquisition.

Watch the trailer here:

I just don't feel that this sequel belongs with this set (and especially in the same package as part 1). As I understand it, Pyun licensed the IP, but other than that, that's the only connection. I hope the filmmakers do well with their sequel, but it just wasn't for me.

Really? You want us to pick up Nemesis 5?

First of all, It's a different licensor so I can't put it in the same box set. And the production value doesn't seem to be on par with the others (especially part one). As an experienced producer I can tell you that the echo in the dialogue in the trailer (listen at about the :15 mark when she says "move and I'll crush your throat) probably won't pass QC on several digital outlets including iTunes.

Again, I commend the filmmakers for their effort here, but I think the series deserves a bigger budget reboot. If you want me to chase this film, I will. Watch the trailer and share your thoughts (but be nice... making movies is HARD... there are several that I poured my heart and soul into as a producer that didn't quite work out as I had hoped so I have compassion for anyone that makes films).

Please don’t waste time with NEMESIS 5.

Seriously.

Box or singles, I’m going to buy all the other titles in the series you’re releasing, but have no patience for modern day zero budget stuff like N5.

Please put your efforts into rescuing other obscure video store era titles that deserve your efforts.

I would LOVE to have Prayer of the Rollerboys! But as a collector I want Kino Lorber Studio Classics to put it out.

Why?

Because Richard LORBER (the king of award winning arthouse and foreign films), who's defined palette has introduced American audiences to filmmakers like Pablo Larrain and Yorgos Lathimos is the EXECUTIVE PRODUCER of "Prayer"! To have a commentary by Richard and an interview with him discussing the artistic merit of Cory Haim, Christopher Collet and Patricia Arquette rollerblading their way through a dystopian future would be PRICELESS.

We all must band together and pressure "MISTER LIME" and tell him to release this! When I worked at Kino I asked Richard all the time about it. "Prayer of the Rollerboys" HAS to be a Kino Lorber Studio Classics title! We need to start laying the smack down on Mister Lime to get it done. He works in the same office as Lorber. How hard could it be?

I'm talking to you Mister Lime. I know you are reading this.

Yeah, I don't disagree. I don't think this one if for me. I actually suggested Wild Eye pick it up, which MVD distributes, but definitely not for Rewind.

Might be. I'll look into this and see if its available. I'm partial to anything with the name "Eric" in the title.

Bit of a 'Victor Salva'-esque situation with the director Brian Peck. Not on the set of The Willies like with Salva and Clownhouse but some years later.
