Dieter’s death via the compy dinosaurs in TLW is by far the most chilling of deaths in these movies, in my opinion. It’s also one of the few stand out scenes in the film that measure up to the brilliance of Spielberg’s original.

The most chilling is the hand. Or maybe the fat guy and the spitting dinos. I always found Gennero's death rather funny.

It's lifted from the first novel so maybe that's why . It's been a while since i've read the books but I recall Michael Crichton using a version of that scene in Jurassic Park in which
[Show spoiler]it was John Hammond who was attacked and killed by the Compys after breaking his ankle.

And didn’t it happen at the end of the first book? Need to reread those books!

Same with the opening prologue to TLW with the little girl eaten by the Compys actually happened at the beginning of Jurassic Park novel.

Wish they did a series of trailers showing all the attacks the novel starts off with

Yeah. It’s just the way it’s shot. The suspense and Spielberg’s eye is just a masterclass.

One thing I liked about TLW and JP3 was that they tried to incorporate elements from the novels that the movies left out. There's a lot of material in the books that haven't been adapted to film and it would have been cool if the sequels tried to bring in little things like that. A way to keep them connected to the source material.
But alas, Jurassic World didn't seem to do that unless you want to compare the Raptors running aside motorcycles from The Lost World.

Ya, really my favorite sequence from JP3 is the river boat attack sequence which I figured was about as close to the river raft chapters from the novel that we were going to get in the movies.

Tell me that doesn't mean this package is at risk for the same glue issue I (and many others, it seems) had with the Universal Classic Monsters Blu-ray cardboard inserts. Literally every time I want to watch one of those, I spend 15 minutes scrubbing glue off after nearly tearing the cardboard insert apart, six years after purchase.

Should I be wary of such an issue and/or consider the steelbook consequently? The price point for the standard set is $20 cheaper, but what good is that value if you can't get the discs out?

She was attacked, not eaten.

Oh the new individual Steelbooks for this are lovely; aside from the bland design, I'm a sucker for spot gloss. It's a shame we only have the combined BestBuy Steelbook here in the US.

Mine arrived today......I'm planning on watching Jurassic Park tonight. I will let everyone know if I see an improvement in the video, however it might be difficult though as I recently purchased a new tv and I haven't watched the standard Blu-ray on this new set, so some of the improvement might simply be from the new tv versus the 4K disc.
