It is indeed cool of them. My guess is that they're aware of the coming Mill Creek two-fer of STRAIGHT-JACKET and BERSERK, and are dropping their price for that reason.

What I remember from the director's commentary was that the film itself got an R rating with the violence intact. It was the studio itself who insisted on cuts because of Columbine and movies with strong violence marketed to teens were still being looked down upon.

That's another instance of a Romero Dead remake where I prefer the remake. I do like the original (again, like NOTLD, it had to grow on me) for its low budget and nostalgic, late-70s charm but find the social commentary heavy-handed and comical, so I just kind of ignore that and enjoy it more for its zombie fun. However, I think the remake is much more suspenseful and intense, and paints a picture of apocalyptic doom that Romero never achieved with his films. Granted, that's because of the budget, obviously, but it just raises the remake up another level for me.

Yes fans of the movie would buy it in an instant as we want to see how the stunts were done, interviews, a look back at the movie to see what was cut out of the film.

If he really wanted to lend some credibility to his comments he needed to talk about the more obscure releases that people aren't as familiar with or are expecting as far as I'm concerned. It's easy to say Candyman is coming as we've all been saying that for years. Hell read through this thread and the Vestron thread and I've accurately predicted a few releases and their release time frames over the years (Ghoulies and The wishmaster releases being my most accurate guesses). He provided just enough big names to likely be right on at least one or two thus appearing "in the know" but in reality nothing that was posted could really be treated as anything more than just an educated guess at best.

Candyman would be perfect and maybe might come for Halloween if it was announced this month or next month or at the comic con.

The guy who was making those leaks who's posts were deleted was a total asshat eh?

And what do you think of the original Day of the Dead? the most gruesomest of the trilogy and the zombies looked more realistic even the gore looks more realistic than Dawn's eh? and the 2008 remake sucked eh?

Yeah, now Day of the Dead I liked right off the bat. It didn't need to grow on me like the first two. That had Romero's best zombies of the first three movies and the gore effects were tremendous. I loved the score, too, and the idea that the zombies could recall memories and possibly be trained to behave. It also has my favorite character of the Dead films, John, played by Terry Alexander.

I saw the first remake shortly after it came out and thought it was terrible. Not even going to bother with the second remake that came out this year.

I've only seen the unrated version on DVD. Remember liking enough that if a BD does happen Id pick it up.

Zero. It's a Lionsgate title. It's probably not all that high on Lionsgate's priorities for the Vestron line, either.

Vestron is owned by Lionsgate. Lionsgate doesn’t license out their films to anyone.

Oh, dear God noooooooooooooooooo.

I have watched a lot of awful, garbage-y horror movies in my time, but Drive-Thru was near unwatchable. Couldn't even finish it.

I was honestly thinking the same thing. I ended up with a copy of this one via those 4/6/8 pack's Wal-Mart was selling in their $5 bins a few years ago. Because of the cast I actually sat through it and I felt like my brain was melting. I've seen some stinkers in my day, but my god this one is the top 10. I would actually feel embarrassed for Scream if they released this... But then again to each their own
