The original Best of the Best is another title badly in need of a bluray collector's edition. It's a Sony property as far as I know. So maybe it's something Shout Factory will look into acquiring at some point.

The first Shootfighter isn't that bad in my opinion. I used to watch it all the time as a kid with my brother. Bolo Yeung, Martin Kove, and William Zabka all star. It's your typical early 90's low budget martial arts flick. I can't say I've ever seen the sequel, but it did star the Korean guy (Joe Son) from Austin Powers that went to prison on a life sentence for rape. He also went on to later murder his cell mate.

Wow, did not know any of that. Insane.

A cursory look around this site shows that Nameless in Germany released both I and II as a set back in 2016. I'm sure some American label will put it out soon enough. The late '80s/early '90s martial arts films seem to have big followings. If it's MVD that puts it out, you can bank on some great extras (interviews with Kove and Zabka would be a must) so I'm kinda rooting for them to get it.

We don't have a deal with Fox right now. But I would LOVE to have Mischief along with The Adventures of Ford Fairlane, PCU and many others. But we don't have a deal with them. Maybe in the future if we do a good job with the MGM stuff we just announced.

Such an awesome poster, BTW.

Best of the Best is owned by Sony. We don't have a deal with them right now. I remember renting that and watching that for the first time and being surprised at how good it was. It's still a great flick.

I don't know how well it would sell to be honest but I would love to have Gas Pump Girls on Blu-ray, if you could wrestle that one out of MGM's hands that would be awesome. I have the manufactured on demand DVD-R that MGM released a few years back and the picture is decent but I would love to see this film in HD, one of the better sex comedies in my opinion and it really brings you back to a different era.
I LOVE talking to you guys. I'm a die hard collector (as of today I have 8,047 titles in my collection... 3,600 which are Blu). So glad you like The Rewind Collection. It's a blast being a disc hoarder AND getting to put this stuff out. I wish I could work faster.

We just did a deal with MGM and I just announced the first round of titles today (Walking Tall (2004), Autumn in New York, Barbershop, Barbershop 2: Back in Business, Beauty Shop.. also 200 Motels but that's DVD only (don't ask... long story, that title HAS to be DVD only). My plan is to start with really mainstream titles that not only collectors might buy but also the average consumer (who doesn't like Dwayne Johnson) and once we get those out, I'll go back and start getting a little deeper into the catalog. But do know, I'm not chasing old movies from the 40's, 50's, 60's. I'll leave those for Kino and Twilight Time. I'm after the occasional title from the 70's but mostly I'm looking for 80's, 90's, 00's stuff. I'll look into "Gas Pump Girls" for possible future pick-up. Thanks so much!

Speaking of Nemesis, I wanted to inform you of some audio issues with the current releases (specifically the German release) that can hopefully be fixed for this new edition. Around the 64 and 71-minute mark, the dialogue noticeably drifts out of sync with the picture, also at the end of the film the track features dialogue from Tim Thomerson's character from the Japanese Extended Version but without the accompanying footage. It seems like they used the audio from the extended cut and tried to make it fit the theatrical cut. Further proof of this is the film features the extended cuts voice-over, the U.S cut has a female voice, while the extended cut uses Olivier Gruner. Hope this info helps!

P.S. Is there any chance we'll be getting Albert Pyun's Mean Guns.
I'll look into this. Any way you could tell me if that glitch is on master that has a 1.78:1 aspect ratio or a 2.35:1 ratio. I just checked and they delivered 2 masters. I'm hoping you will say 1.78:1 so I can toss that aside and hopefully have a clean master with the correct aspect ratio. Let me know. Thanks!

I'm like, one guy doing all of this so we're probably a little slower in our acquisitions and the number of releases we do at one time, but don't worry, we won't over extend. Thanks for your concern, though.

Actually, I don't know. That one came with some restrictions and we have to put that one out pretty much exactly as MGM gave it to us (no extras, no music on the menu, can't mess with the artwork or the pictures). I just took what they gave me and am releasing a legit DVD with a 1.78:1 anamorphic ws aspect ratio. I'll see what I can find out.

@MVD Rewind Guy ,

Any chance of more Van Damme Special Editions; Death Warrant & Double Impact from the MGM catalog under the MVD Rewind banner?

The MVD Marquee Classic line is not for releases with new special features, the MVD Rewind line is for that.

The Marquee Classic line uses existing bonus features, if available, and existing video & audio masters.

Hey MVD Rewind Guy, I am absolutely LOVING your release of D.O.A. !! The extras are amazing, I would never have dreamed of having the privilege of owning this on blu-ray just in a bare bones edition let alone with all the extras you guys added on. I was finally able to retire my japanese bootleg. I am wondering if you guys could get your hands on Ladies and Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains. I know its a Paramount title and we all know what bastards those guys are but sometimes they do license out the treasures that are rotting away in their vaults. It has the only film appearance of one of my favorite bands, Black Randy and the Metrosquad. I gave up hope on this ever getting released (even in DVD again) until you guys did D.O.A. and with criterion releasing Smithereens, maybe anything is possible...

It's possible in the future unless someone else doesn't get them first. Gotta get our first batch out and if they so well (which I believe they will), I will be able to go back and get more.
