It's a personal choice though it's completely irrational.

No, no, not "f**k THEM" referring to Universal Studios, my question was would you never watch Jaws, or ET because of it? As that's how moronic never watching a BFI disc would be because of the behaviour of low paid cinema ushers.

Why haven't there been reviews of The Touch on Blu-ray? My order arrived in Brazil days ago but I don't see websites reviewing it at all.

Well this looks interesting...

http://www.bfi.org.uk/whats-on/bfi-f...leases/arcadia

Another one of their seemingly popular "let's hire a contemporary composer/songwriter (or failing that Jarvis Cocker) to soundtrack a compilation of themed clips from the archive" series.

Have to admit I haven't seen the last two, them being Minute Bodies (https://shop.bfi.org.uk/pre-order-mi...rcy-smith.html) or Queerama which I have to admit I didn't even know existed until a couple of weeks back (https://shop.bfi.org.uk/pre-order-queerama-dvd.html), IMO this looks one of the more interesting. As engaging and emotional as From the Sea to the Land Beyond or as simply executed yet unnervingly odd as C.O.I.: Misinformation? Probably not but I'll no doubt pick this up.

Seems as though the Woodfall set has been delayed. Just got an email from HMV;

We’ve just been advised by the manufacturers that the release date for the above item has changed to 11/06/2018 and your order will therefore be processed and dispatched nearer to this date.

Like yourself I didn't know about the existence of Queerama (probably because it is a DVD release and not a Blu) but I do have Minute Bodies and can highly recommend it and the soundtrack.

Arcadia looks good as well.

Did anyone order this in the end? I ordered it a few days back and it's still pending. Anyone get theirs?

Arcadia looks good as well.

I'm not a HD snob and will pick up the Queerama DVD when I'm in Manchester later this week. Judging by the trailer and handful of reviews it looks both entertaining and interesting and I'm hoping the makers politics won't feature in a partisan or preachy way, if at all.

I'm also interested to find out what chemsex is. Or maybe I'm not. Depends on what it is.

Base.com often take 3 or 4 working days to dispatch items as so I wouldn't worry just yet, especially as you ordered just before the weekend. If they let you down there are several new copies on Amazon Marketplace for less than £6:00 ppd.

Just checked the item specs and noticed Captured contains the "banned" The Finishing Line public information film, a genuine "WTF were they thinking?" piece of 70's film making for children. Well worth looking up if you've not seen it.

I did see someone talk about that PI film, sounded right up my alley, especially if its anything like the stuff they used to show at my school

I'll definitely be getting It Happened Here & The Comfort of Strangers. Already have Twilight edition of Eye of the Needle and don't feel the need to double dip though no doubt the BFI edition will be stacked with extras.

Watched my copy the other night and the film it is as bad as I remembered to be decades ago. I had hoped the passing of time may have improved it. Off to the second-hand market it goes. Though must admit the extras are worthy.

I'll wait a while to get the Woodfall set anyway but if it's revealed in the interim that separate releases of Look Back in Anger and The Entertainer are coming I'll probably just get those and Tom Jones instead.
