Well, strike this one for the Asheville area. Two Best Buys, two Targets, one Walmart and not a gosh darn copy. One Best Buy employee said that they got a shipment in late, but couldn't do anything with it because their systems got screwed up.

"Ya. They say they won't get it back up for a couple of days. Never happened before."

I can't tell what this is, but I definitely got a "Shoo. Go away pest." vibe when they told me that.

Well they don't go into the store and just take the slips off and leave. They purchase a couple copies of the movie, take the slips off, and then return them without the slips. Then they flip the slips on here or eBay for $4-8 each.

FYI: Best Buy stores are getting 2 of these each. They are part of a shipper from Warner that just arrived at my store. If your store does not have the shipper out, you will not find it.

Just out of a matter of interest what country do you live in? Sometimes when I order from .com I’ve had to wait to the day after release day for them to dispatch it.

Unfortunately my experiences with Amazon (both UK and US sites) when it comes to pre-orders have been quite the opposite. Amazon US being the worst though. Only recently Saving Private Ryan which I also had on pre-order from Amazon US forever took 4-5 days after release date before dispatch. It's a bit frustrating when I feel like everybody else here often have their pre-orders shipped several days early. My pre-order of The Patriot is not yet dispatched.
Interestingly Red Sparrow however (also Amazon US) shipped on release day yesterday.

I live in Scandinavia so perhaps that's part of the reason? Amazon US and UK giving US and UK orders priority in the line perhaps? I don't know.

Granted, when I think about it Zavvi have run a couple of days late when shipping some of my pre-orders before so perhaps I was a bit early in praising them over Amazon. They generally seem to ship my orders earlier though.

When I stopped by my local Best Buy on my way home this afternoon, they only had 1 copy (not sure how many more, if any, they started with), and I grabbed it up quick.

I owned this on DVD, but never got around to purchasing it on blu. It's going to be a blast watching it for the first time in quite a while at this quality.

No copies where I live. Best Buy said they wouldn't get them in until Friday at the earliest. Unforgiven, Blade Runner and now the Matrix. Warner is the only one who can't deliver product on time. How many years have they been in business and they can't supply the goods?

I wish WB would stop using these stupid stackers, too. Especially for sets that are just 3-disc; there's not really any excuse for that. Lucky I recently ordered 150 3-disc flippers, and still have probably 80-85 spares after swapping out all the 3-disc sets using stackers as well as combining 3-D discs from old combo packs into my UHD sets.

Hmm, shouldn't have redeemed the digital copy yet; it isn't UHD on VUDU so it only redeems HD at the moment. Hope it's upgraded to UHD when available as I can't Dolby Vision on disc yet and it's nice to see if there's a difference.

I just got my copy of The Matrix along with The Patriot and Fury. This might be the best month of 4k releases yet. Cant wait for the sun to go down so i can pop in The matrix....im giddy.

My local Best Buy has an 'overstock blu-ray' wall where they put all movies they receive without a location or that aren't planned for a week.

Just adding to the misery...struck out in my area too (went 0 for 3 @ Target, WalMart and Best Buy), no copies of the Matrix to be found in this town today, pfft. Thankfully BB had the JP steel set so I'm not exactly bummed, grabbed The Patriot as well. Now the goal is to somehow find The Matrix by the coming long weekend at least.
