Hi Unknown,

I would say most of my 3D collection is made up of discs I would not have otherwise purchased if it wasn't for the third dimension. Not that the films aren't enjoyable but I would have watched most of them on cable and then dubbed those special to me.

3D lifts them to an entirely altogether high level, even the so-so ones. I'm glad I have A*P*E* in 3D but would have caught it on TV only if ever shown.

Agreed 3D definitely adds something very special to the viewing experience. After all these years I still find myself closing an eye then reopening to be amazed at the 3D in front of me. Have always been a fan of 3D and always will be.

Just have to work on adding more to my 3D blu ray collection. I'm a huge gamer as well and just started getting into 3D gaming. Loving it.

We just watched Pirates Band of Misfits.

Hilarious animated film with great stop motion and very good 3D. Many one liners.

Highly recommended.

I've got to disagree on the 3D for Pirates, I thought it was really weak. The animation was excellent though.

Hi levcore,

It had its moments with some swords and other objects protruding a bit beyond the screen. The depth was also decent though not as immersive as other animated gems. There also was a lack of innovation. But it was overall pleasant. That's why I said very good 3D which, for me, is being highly critical

even though I had seen 'Amityville 3D' before but only in 2D, the 3D viewing I watched the other night was an entirely different ball game - the numerous 'in your face' moments were a ton of fun.

My copy is the Japanese release, however my copy did not have Japanese audio and subtitles, which is strange because it should have Japanese audio and subtitles but it does not.
Instead i saw These audio tracks:
3D Disc Audio:
[Show spoiler]English: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1
(48kHz, 24-bit)
Hungarian: Dolby Digital 5.1
Polish: Dolby Digital 5.1
Russian: Dolby Digital 5.1
Thai: Dolby Digital 5.1
Turkish: Dolby Digital 5.1

3D Disc Subtitles:
[Show spoiler]English SDH
Chinese
Korean
Hungarian
Polish
Russian
Thai
Turkish

2D Disc Audio:
[Show spoiler]English: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1
(48kHz, 24-bit)
English (Discriptive Audio): Dolby Digital 5.1
French: Dolby Digital 5.1
German: Dolby Digital 5.1
Italian: Dolby Digital 5.1
Spanish: Dolby Digital 5.1

2D Disc Subtitles:
[Show spoiler]English SDH
French
German SDH
Italian SDH
Spanish
Dutch
Danish
Finnish
Norwegian
Swedish
Actually i was wrong, the Japanese release of Geostorm does have both Japanese audio and subtitles, i didn't realize that i had the language of the disc menu set to English until i checked the settings on my PS4, so i manually had to go to settings then to Video Playback Settings then to Language and switch the disc menu language from English to Japanese, then i went back to play the disc and i was able to get both Japanese audio and subtitles.

For all of the US forum members that don't have 3D releases of the last Disney movies, you have the Mexican version option.

The latest 3D releases from Disney here in Mexico are: Thor Ragnarok 3D, Star Wars The Last Jedi 3D and starting this week Black Panther 3D. They all are region A with English audio & subtitles... BUT, not everything is that nice, Disney in Mexico is releasing their movies in 3 versions: 1) Bluray only 2) Bluray + DVD 3) 3D Bluray Only. I HATE that !!!

That means you pay around 23 USD for a 3D one disc only version, but if you want to own the extras, then you have to buy also the Bluray version (another 16 USD).

Well, at least we are having 3D releases, with slipcovers, but I really hate that marketing strategy...

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Another Joey D. simulation! . Kinda neat. Again, have player do simulation and further adjust depth on TV which processes it as an incoming 3D signal.

Am almost tempted to buy one of those pushed back auto converts of a Blu-ray I own just to compare the differences. Almost tempted, that is. LOL

I already have Thor: Ragnarok and Star Wars: The Last Jedi, i'm waiting next month for Black Panther and Coco.

No 2d disc included in the Mexican releases, i don't like that.

Watched Poltergeist 3D (2015), saw it for the first time.

The movie was nothing special, just another unnecessary remake. But the 3D was very good (conversion) and especially the third act looked brilliant! Really liked how the picture came alive with many nice layers and lot's of objects coming close to the face. I wouldn't watch this one in 2D, as I found the 3D to be very important building up the atmosphere!

Also the Dolby 7.1 audio was nice with great surround effects.
