original 1951 35mm complete print - 86 minutes & 35 seconds

original 35mm complete negative - 86 minutes & 35 seconds - he said this might be a dupe negative and not the camera negative, but it was still good enough for them to make a new 35mm print from it about 10 years ago

Their 35mm negative is not some kind of 16mm blow-up, so whatever they have is a whole lot better than the missing 5 minutes of 16mm material that Warners doesn't want to use.
Films in the Library of Congress film archive are meant for just that: preservation. If a studio doesn't have a proper copy of a film in their archives or by other means, they're s*** out of luck.

Didn't Kino get some elements from the Library of Congress? Such as The Hitch-Hiker? Which is an amazing film that I hear nobody talk about, and one of my favorites of the genre.

It's possible. There are films the LoC has for copyright purposes, where films could potentially be used for other uses, and then there's the National Film Registry which is their film preservation arm.

Preserved for what purpose? So senators and representatives can watch them?

Established by the National Film Preservation Act of 1988, the National Film Preservation Board works to ensure the survival, conservation and increased public availability of America's film heritage, including: advising the Librarian on its recommendations for annual selections to the National Film Registry, apprising the Librarian of changing trends and policies in the field of film preservation, and counseling the Librarian on ongoing implementation of the National Film Preservation Plan.
By the way, here is a very interesting article about the archive and its preservation efforts:

They've always had international shipping, it's just that the majority of the Studio Classics titles are US / Canada only.

FYI, please watch shipping restrictions since we are not permitted to ship many titles outside of our territory.

i still have to wait for deep discount to do a sale on kino then (not been one since late last year) and pick up the same drops in price at WOW HD because of the restrictions and shipping rates then.

they can be below £10 each, which for a USA titles shipped to the UK is pretty good.

regularity of kino doing their own sales seems to stop other retailers doing them so frequently, though.

Got a few titles added to my cart, now the site is going down. Keep refreshing, sometimes it loads, sometimes it doesn't. I guess the feeding frenzy is on!
