I have The Lion King on DVD (2-disc SE) and yes, it was the best we could get. It's not bad on DVD, but it will be stunning on BD. Beauty and the Beast, from what I understand, is coming out the fall of 2010 (please correct me if I'm wrong), so we have a while to wait for it. I never got it on DVD (missed it out of the vault around 2003). That is my all-time favorite of the Disney animated "cartoon" films, and it will be an instant acquisition as soon as it's released.

haha Tron, I always forget that was a Disney production, I think I see from these boards that there's some demand for Tron. |

Everything mentioned so far and then some.
One notable thing people don't seem as interested in: A Goofy Movie. That thing is a classic, and luckily, it's not a part of the animated canon, so I won't have to wait for them to burn through the likes of Beauty and the Beast or Lion King to get to this gem. Really, I hate the way they're doing the animated releases; they should get them all out ASAP. |

While I would buy every single one of them, including cartoon packages, I am LEAST excited about Atlantis, Bambi, Robin Hood and Treasure Planet, and MOST excited about Alice In Wonderland, Peter Pan, The Dark Cauldron, Dumbo, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Lion King, 101 Dalmations, Aladdin and Beauty And The Beast. But I'd give up all of these for some Bakshi, like Fritz The Cat and Wizards, and Yellow Submarine and Allegro Non Troppo.

I'd pick up just about every single animated Disney Blu-ray. There are a few I've never seen though (like Black Cauldron), and would rent those first.
I just hope that either later this year, or next year, Disney starts putting out non Platinum titles on Blu as well. Even if it's just the newer stuff like Lilo and Stitch, Tarzan, or Emperors New Groove. Newer stuff should require a bit less work for them afterall, so I don't think it's asking too much. #1 want is THE LION KING
would also buy 101 DALMATIONS, SNOW WHITE, HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, TARZAN, DUMBO, BAMBI, and several others. Most of these films are classics, great to have for family movie nights, and would look outstanding on blu-ray!! |
