I love the simplicity of the productions, where the film is the major draw and focus, with isolated music from the score as a nice feature. Twilight Time remains consistent with their content, and still manages to throw out a surprise every so often. The 3000 printings make them editions geared toward the collector. I keep telling myself that I should wait until sales to buy the latest Twilight Time movies, but I still show up at 4:00 p.m. on the Wednesday of sale to snatch up wanted titles.

I'll be diving into some unwatched Twilight Time titles in weeks to come, since I've decided to take a brief sabbatical from the horror genre and use the summer to enjoy some westerns in my collection. I've got quite a few on the table... Gun Fury, Lawman, Hour of the Gun, Wild Bill, Geronimo, Comes a Horseman, From Noon Til Three, etc.

Somebody had posted a while back that with "Our Man Flint" they had every Twilight Time release at that point.

There was a guy who posted maybe a month ago(?) that he now had every title in the collection after buying some of the missing ones on eBay. And from the looks of it, he spent a pretty penny picking up some of those old OOP titles.

Yeah especially since the Flint titles are pretty dang overpriced. I barely managed to get a copy of “Used Cars” for 52. That’s the most I’ve payed for a singular film that wasn’t a TV season/set or film box set.

I wasn't going to buy anything else during this sale, but I jumped on House of Bamboo while it's still available. Plus, I had a $2 coupon, so it came out to just under $18.

I keep eyeing The Fury and Body Double on eBay, even though I have a version of The Fury from Arrow and Body Double from Indicator. I recently acquired two OOP titles--Salvador and Under Fire--for under $20 a piece, but I'm not going to find the De Palma titles for anywhere near that anytime soon...

Why would you bother though? The versions you already have of those two films are as good as, or even better than, the TT ones.

For completist... TT should have developed a yearly subscription service (something like pay $250 a year and they will ship you every title they produce).

TT puts out 4-5 titles a month, so $250 a year would be $4.17 to $5.21 per title, not including shipping.

Sign me up for that but they'd be out of business very soon. I remember seeing that 1500 copies at $29.95 is their break-even point for each title so they'd need to sign-up quite a few folks for that deal.

I've got 190 Twilight Time titles in my collection, complete with a still-unwatched list that is pretty daunting.

It chaps my tail that I missed out on The Fury and, most of all, The Egyptian, but I'm otherwise pretty content right now.
