thanks for threadcrapping.

no for real, thanks, because this movie is the biggest atrocity to come out of hollywood in the past 10 years. how dare they remake one of the all-time great movies with CGI and reeves.

im still pissed this movie came out. the silver lining is maybe it sparked intrest in the original, which is truly a great movie.

Got drug into the theatres with buddies to watch it. Enjoyed it, but not gonna buy this BD. Will probably get the original on BD tho'; never seen it but one of my buddies and a buncha reviews say it's worth the buy.

Another case of using the wrong people(director etc) to make a movie.
Perhaps the next remake will be better?

You brought drugs into the theater when you went to see The Day The Earth Stood Still with your buddies? Whoa. Or perhaps you meant that your buddies dragged you along to to see this movie in the theater. Whatever the case I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed the movie.

Well, I'm in the minority here. I *like* the original even with it's terrible acting and while the original is far superior to this.... I still enjoyed this version. I thought casting Keanu Reeves as an emotionless, monotone being was spot on and enjoyed most of the film except for the parts with Fresh Prince, Jr.

I may end up picking this up on BD but I'm not sure. I just don't know what the rewatch value is.

I will rent it first, since I have yet to see it. Might be a purchase at some point. I am still very interested in watching it.

Terrible movie. I didn't really care that it's a remake as the original was made quite a few years ago, but damn I don't think they could have made a worse movie. Terrible acting, terrible directing, terrible effects, terrible movie.

I didn't think it was that bad, I just wish they didn't include Jaden Smith. I wanted to scratch my eyes out whenever he was on screen. I'm gonna pick it up some of the CG looked really good.
