Still terrible...even in 4K.

I’d say 4, 3, 5, 1, ...2.

Still miss the Ghost Protocol scenes in IMAX though, I really with they opened up the IMAX scenes on the disc.

For me, it's 5, 4, 1, 3 and then 2.

I only bought 4 and 5. The others aren't available right now and it's on back order at Amazon. When I finally get around to buying the rest, I'll be sad if there are no slips for those.

Did I say MI 2 was great?

I'm going to rewatch all of them before Fallout releases.

After going through 4K.

5>>>>>>>>>1>4>3>>>>>>>>>2

5 could be even better if Fallout is great with Sean harris returning.

wow Rogue Nation is getting a lot of praise here as the best MI movie...Ghost Protocol easily gets that distinction for me...4-->1-->5-->3--2

I don't know how many or which ones JJ Abrams did, but do you all like the one(s) that he did in the franchise?

He directed 3 and produced 3 through 5 so far. Clearly people seem to favor the last 2.

Yup, me too. MI:Fallout will be on disc in autumn. The entire 6 disc 4K box set is a possibility for Black Friday (should we say strong possibility?).

I've got 1-5 on BD already. And I don't need no steenkeen slips.

Chris

Just got a notification from Amazon that Ghost Protocol (locked in at $19.95) is expected to arrive on July 9. I don’t think I’ve ever had an order with Amazon where their “1 to 3 months” estimate is accurate... it always comes back into stock within a week or two.

The love for 5 is funny. It's the least dynamic of the 5, and Cruise's character fails at everything he tries. He crashes during the chase, fails at the underwater sequence and even dies! The whole film, he needs other people to save him, which is terrible for the "hero." Complete miscalculation on McQuarrie's part. Not to mention, it doesn't have 1 sequence that even rivals the best set pieces of 4, 3, or 1. Hopefully Fallout gets the series back on track.

I love five precisely because it's not focused on wanking over some big set piece, they get the big publicised plane shot out of the way in the opening scene and seem to imply "now that's what you came to see is out of the way, it's not gonna be that kind of MI movie". Indeed it's not, it's more like De Palma's twisty-turny spy thriller that started this series (though it's not action-less by any means) and I couldn't think of higher praise for what Cruise and McQ did on Rogue Nation. It's almost a deconstruction of what people expect, what with Ilsa Faust taking centre stage in proceedings (it's like she's in a parallel film or something) and stealing the movie right out from under Cruise's nose, and other stuff like Benji's bit when he imagines finally wearing a mask in the field.

People go nuts for Ghost Protocol's action and that's fine but that's also what the movie is in terms of the story, it's a ghost, it's about as vapid and wafer-thin as it gets (madman wants to destroy the world!) and I've just never liked it all that much, propped up as it is by walking talking mannequins like Paula Patton. It's more like an episode of the TV show in that respect, also fine if people enjoy that aspect of it, but personally I don't want a jumped-up episode of the show. Bonus point for bringing back Max's bodyguard and that tatty balaclava though, you can't escape De Palma's original.

It's about the team, it brings the team back finally and they actually do something

Well, I can accept your criticisms, but if you'd touched Renner, we'd have something to talk about.

The great action is why it's my second favorite out of them all. Ilsa Faust was pretty amazing and I hated seeing her get killed off. Simon Pegg was destined for a larger role in the next movie and I was glad to see it in GP. The bad guy barely exists and he hardly had any lines. Paula Patton was just meh and not all that memorable.

I liked Rogue Nation for it's thriller type of story. Rebecca Ferguson and Simon Pegg were the movie for me more than Cruise.

I rather not go back through 89 pages, so I apologize if this question has already been asked, what do you think of the 1st one?

The 3rd one is my favorite of the franchise because of the villain.
