That being said, Arrow seem to be the company with active US ties to the Universal catalog, based on their announcement of The Day of the Jackal. They may have been the licensor for The Addiction, as well, as October Films is a Universal subsidiary.
Yes i noticed that with Day of the Jackal being at Arrow.

Yup Universal released bareboned BDs of Darkman, People and Burbs then later on finally got CE BDs, so the same can happen to the pre-2013 Chucky sequels.

I'm really hoping that they come through with the Comic Con announcements because so far I'm not interested in what they're offering. Besides, at this point with a WB and Sony deal they shouldn't be rereleasing movies. That being said, I'm glad for those people that wanted this movies even if I'm not one them.

We've got two "decent" Scream Factory CE's at this point for October. I like both films, and was a little more excited about House on Haunted Hill than I am for Trick R Treat. Still, both are solid, enjoyable horror films. But are they mind-blowing and jaw-dropping? Not to me. Are they to anyone so far? There has to be something big coming in the October CE category. House on Haunted Hill "almost" counts. It doesn't have a current Blu-ray release, so it's higher than Trick R Treat. But keep in mind, gents: all these big titles we've imagined might not be available...

I don't know how some of these guys who are raving about this release don't already have it? The previous one was pretty good already. I feel the same, HOHH edges out Trick just because no NA release though I prefer Trick as a movie. I agree nothing mind blowing yet. I know it's still early but I fear like you they might not have all that we think they have. It's possible or at the very least they might not be released for a long time so they have ammo for next year.

House on Haunted Hill never had a BD release as the sequel got a BD but never the first one while the first one on BD for the first time makes those who want the first one on BD happier.

I'm looking forward to both films on BD and The Wasp Woman is fine for Corman fans and vintage sci-fi/horror fans.

This week and next should be more exciting than ever, i mean september has a few duds and some i'm excited for being REC collection, Seventh Sign, Brain Dead, Scream for Help and The Evil. October is even better than September i can tell already.

Shame they couldn't do new scans for They Live and Prince of Darkness. I'm still expecting more titles to be announced this week, the steelbooks don't usually detract from the number of 'new' monthly releases. Plus 4 of the 5 titles are currently scheduled for 9th October, that still leaves a lot of room for the subsequent weeks (the 2nd should be reserved for IFC titles).

Those are pretty cool, like the Halloween 2 one the best. I see new 4k scans for these too.

I'm holding off to see if Arrow release the Halloween films over here in October. Otherwise I might just get these and put the discs in the old CE's or even the boxset, I'm not really interested in these steelbooks.

I'm really digging the new covers, but I cannot possibly justify another Halloween double-dip after purchasing the 15-disc set a couple of years ago... too bad there isn't a upgrade program where current owners of the set can pay to just upgrade the discs for the new 4k scans...

As someone who bought the Halloween box set, the LE one, this stings horrendously bad. And have really enjoyed its existence. I hoped what I owned was going to be the mostly definitive release of the franchise for a bit longer than 3 1/2 years. I was counting on this being a one time thing.

Re: Trick R Treat, I'm glad I never replaced my copy. I had the original slipcover and sold it for about $100 several years ago. Kinda hated to let it go, but that was stupid money for a piece of cardboard. Never got around to buying the movie again, so I will be all over the CE.

As for the Halloween steels, ugh, I dunno. I have the big 15 disc limited boxed set, and I had the collectors editions before that, and the Universal disc of II. Since they are 4k scans I can probably justify buying them yet again, but I won't be excited about it.

Wonder how long it will be before universal uses the same 4k scans and releases their own upgraded editions of Halloween 2/3? UHD BD's seem probable for Halloween 2019 and that very well could also mean updated BD's. Since I don't really like Steelbooks, and since these will be "limited" to 10,000 copies I can wait until Universal releases their own cheap editions to throw in the complete collection set.
