I'm now less interested in this. With a title like that, it feels like this should've been shot in Venice Beach, not Connecticut. Yeah, not feeling this one.
You do realize that there are actual real beaches in Connecticut, not just “inlets? When I was a kid, my parents would often take me to Hammonnasset Beach, which was beautiful. Here are some of the beaches located in Connecticut - I have no idea where the movie was filmed, but it could very well have been at any one of these places:

As for the film itself, it’s definitely campy and cheesy. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen it, but from what I can remember, I would suggest anyone who hasn’t seen it watch before blind buying, just in case!

It looks like some of it may well have been be shot at Hammonasset Beach. At 17 mins in a girl swims out to the end of what looks like Meigs Point to me, she sits on the rocks then is killed by the monster.

Back in the 1980's, I screened a 16mm print of PARTY BEACH for a Seattle film society. The audience laughed during the monster scenes, but they also unexpectedly laughed when a scientist father suddenly tried to instruct his teenage daughter in the ways of etiquette. I guess nobody anticipated a "message" to be provided by this film. It was kind of a WTF moment.

The audience really enjoyed the film, by the way.
