I'll say this about it...

Within the Guy Ritchie filmography, it is his 'Jackie Brown' in reference to Quentin Tarantino filmography. It is a character driven piece that is structured around a modest plot.

I wouldn't say that it's his masterpiece, but it is definitely enjoyable. I still rank 'Snatch' as my favourite Guy Ritchie film with 'Lock Stock...' and 'Rocknrolla' fighting for second. I can't believe how many "Brit-isms" I didn't understand though! Being an entertainment junkie, I thought that I had heard them all. Apparently not!

Silly me... I mentioned what I thought about the movie in my previous post but didn't comment on the quality of the Blu-ray release itself.

Warner Bros. is definitely catching onto the PQ bandwagon as this transfer is beautiful! As for the audio, it was pretty robust for a TrueHD track. However, it was definitely lacking in environmental detail. I don't think this has anything to do with the actual transfer though. I believe that the soundscape was left fairly barren in the original mix of the film.

Loved this movie in theaters. I don't think I'll buy it right away though, at $32.99 I'll wait a few months till it's around $19.99.

Man... I really enjoyed this film and it does fit in with "Lock, Stock" and "Snatch". Guy Ritchie seems to be getting back on track after taking a nosedive with "Swept Away" (although I did enjoy Madonna being treated like a dog) and "Revolver" was looking real good until it took a wrong turn in the final 30 minutes.

I did pre-order this on Amazon with the price being at $27.

This is a day and date purchase for me. I'll be marching into Best Buy Tuesday morning with my gift card and leaving wih 5 new BDs (and still some money remaining on my gift card

) .
