Default Add-ons coming for Ninja Gaiden Sigma

http://www.siliconera.com/2007/08/03...-gaiden-sigma/

Tecmo announced the first expansion pack for Ninja Gaiden Sigma is a survival mode where you try to kill as many enemies as you can with limited health. The bonus content is not free; Tecmo has it priced for 315 yen ($3) in Japan. In September the second expansion pack comes out, which adds in a time attack and in October players will be able to try out the survival mode with Rachel and her new costume. The price for the other two expansion packs has not been announced, but they are likely to be sold at a similar price.

I don't mind add-ons if they add some quality to the game. I'll be picking these up.

Not exactly my idea of quality content. Seriously, who cares about Rachel and her new costume?

Fair enough about the costumes. But I think the different game modes will add some playability to the game. That's the whole idea of an add-on, to add several hours of play to a game.

The idea of Ninja Gaiden 2 is quite premature IMO. NGS has only been out for a month, lol.

No they won't. it's basicly the same game modes that were in Ninja Gaiden Black on the original Xbox. All it does is add a pinch of Rachel to the recipe...

Premature? This is the third version of this game. Third! 1, 2, 3.... Same game, three versions. I'm ready for Ninja Gaiden 2. And I'm sure many others who have played since the release of the first Xbox title are ready for it as well...

New Downloadable Content for Ninja Gaiden Sigma Released on September 6th

http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/n...ml?sid=6176436

2007 August 9 - Eidos Interactive, one of the world's largest publishers and developers of interactive software is pleased to announce the first set of downloadable content for Ninja Gaiden Sigma will be available via the PlayStation Store from September 6th 2007. Ninja Gaiden Sigma for PlayStation 3 was released to worldwide critical acclaim this June - An action adventure game, where the player takes the role of Super Ninja Ryu Hayabusa in a high-speed, next-generation game.

The downloadable content entitled "Survival Mode" is a battle-orientated mode that allows the player to fight an endless stream of enemies. Each of the three downloads provide various themed battles, plus there is a World Ranking available for each different theme. For those who have mastered the original Ninja Gaiden Sigma, this content will provide a battlefield to show off the skills they have accumulated.

The first of the three batches of downloadable content, "Weapon Master" is scheduled for release on September 6th 2007. This content includes five survival modes where you can use only a limited array of weaponry. The player's objective is to master the feature of each weapon and wipe out as many enemies as you can.

"Speed Master" is the second download and the aim of this is to beat your enemies as accurately and quickly as possible. This features another five survival modes in which the time and power gauge are limited. In order to become the ultimate speed master you must master both your skills and acrobatics to survive. and#12288;

In the third and final download, "Rachel Master", you play as the new female character Rachel, in five survival modes in the quest to become the "World's No. 1 Fiend Hunter".

This generation of Ninja Gaiden has no relation to the original series other than the name. I want a sequel to the Xbox game. I'm tired of remakes. This survival mode looks just like some of the content they added in Ninja Gaiden Black.

Huh? Black just had mission modes, which are already included in the ps3 verison. The only thing black had that the ps3 verison doesn't are the original ninja gaiden games included.

This is new for all versions. I'd rather a sequel though.

I agree that they should get to working on Ninja Gaiden 2 for the next generation, but I would hope that they would develop it for both systems at the same time...

Perhaps the gentleman who ported Sigma for the PS3 could work on the sequel for the PS3...

I really want it for my PS3, but if I am forced to it on the 360 I am sure I will buy it.

The original Ninja Gaiden game can be unlocked in the arcade. It must be frustrating people who had an Xbox, but you have to admit, for a remake the quality is sick. I'm sure the warm reception will result in a true sequel being made.
