The date threw me off. Earlier I tried, 3rd, 4th and 5th but I guess it didn't go online just yet.

Bourne #1 and PE HD-DVD#6. This definitely shows (and it has been shown weeks for now) that the titles are being grabbed by HD-DVDers. But these are the titles that street that week (thanks :xmositox)

And Bourne Identity and The Contract are the two titles on the HD-DVD Top 5 list while only Bourne Identity and PE HD-DVD got to be on the Top 10 HD list.

That means once the HD-DVD crowd gets Bourne, the rest of the titles will falter. Meanwhile, catalog BD titles (apart from PE) is still selling well even though there is a serious lack of new releases.

The theory behind PE? Apart from being a good title and people keep mistaking them for the DVD version (just a theory), it's the Oprah factor. She told her viewers to watch it when it first aired in April and the snowball started.

I don't see how anyone with two eyes and more than two brain cells can look at hard numbers like that and not get a very unmistakeable message.

Just imagine what those figures are going to look like when we get another batch of some more "shock and awe" titles from Fox, Disney, MGN, and SPE come around Christmas time thereabouts?

They have only 2 movies in the top 10. The rest are BD.
I think that says something there.
Plus 300 is not up in that, so we will have to wait and see how that turns out in the end.

The big picture is PE on BR is outselling PE on HDDVD and The Host did better on BR than HDDVD.

Bad weeks for BR are still wins, and discs released on both are BR wins. Ray Charles could see where this is going when the good BR exclusives start hitting in the fall.

As I said previously in the thread, HD-DVD will never win a week, because even on slow weeks, what happens is people go back and purchase back-titles on Blu-ray that they missed previous weeks. Even with that, look at the strong showing for Weeds Season 2, The Host, and then, surprise-suprise, the apple of HD-DVD fans' eyes, Planet Earth which they have been crowing about for months. It has pulled ahead on Blu-ray (all those Amazon returns for people who figured out they can't play HD DVDs on their upscaling HD-DVD players perhaps?) This is just too funny.

The BDA is resting until the final apocalypse which shall commence in the Autumn. Sayonara HD-DVD. Die the bloody red death that you deserve.

Wow, wow is all I can say. Given the number of releases for the week given in HD DVD's favor and a huge Blockbuster like Bourne, HD DVD still couldn't even muster getting out of the 30 percentile. Sad just sad....brings a tear to my eye...I'm feeling vaclempt. Talk amongst yaselves.
