I don't get it. What does that have anything to do with an editing error not being fixed in the MVD release?

When the German distributor (digidreams) put together the extended cut, they forgot to remove a piece of dialog that was changed for the U.S. cut. Now you have the doctor telling Gaultier (Van Damme) that his brothers killers have been arrested, followed by his killers may never be found.

It's a continutity error that was introduced in the creation of the directors cut. Depending on how MVD's licensing contract is they may not be able to edit the footage. Also that's the way it's always been to my knowledge in all versions of the DC. It's not MVD's responsibility to change it. As soon as you drop that file into an editing program and make edits, it has to be output again. This can downgrade PQ if they didn't receive the raw video file of the film. Another factor could be budget for the release, they already spent a lot on the extras, hiring an editor may have not been in the cards for them.

I love the mentality of folks who are like "I TOLD THEM THE PROBLEM EXISTED! IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED!!!"

I wasn't at Olive very long (it's a long story). During my short time there I helped art direct packaging for titles like "The Pawnbroker" and "Sands of Iwo Jima".

The one title I was most involved in was "Moontrap". I felt really bad about this title because of the master that we had to use. I have a lot of regrets about this one as it should have been better. But there were things out of my control that prevented me from doing so.

The last thing I did there was help shepherd the MGM deal and personally curated the list of titles they picked up. I had a lot of plans for those titles that I didn't get to do (and ultimately applied those ideas to the Rewind Collection) and left Olive before they came out.

That's all I can think of right now. I know many of the releases outside of the Rewind / Marquee / Classics brands and "new films". Are there any of the "new films" (that say "DVD only") that you (or anyone here) would want on Blu-ray? It won't hurt my feelings if people say no (which is why many of these say "DVD only".

Most are. The MGM stuff in the Marquee Collection is region locked. Blast, Crazy Six and any non-MGM stuff (all but Windrider and Bright Lights) in the Rewind Collection is region free.

When you get your order just email MVD and they will send you corrected discs. It's all good.

If you haven't seen it, one of my proudest acquisitions is "Boy" from Taika Waititi (director "Thor: Ragnarok"). Try that first.

Since you're in the UK, MVD are contractually bound to only send replacements within the US and Canada. I would tell Diabolik your situation and see what they could do. It's possible that Diabolik (being in the US) could put in a "replacement" request of their own to MVD and submit your receipt data and/or pictures of the item to receive the discs, and then once they get the replacement disc(s) sent to them they would be able send it to your destination.

Posted this in the Shadowbuilder thread but felt like I should post it here as well.

Just received my bluray from diabolikdvd of Shadowbuilder. It looks fantastic. Nice layer of fine grain. Lots of detail. The transfer handles the dark photography very well. It's largely unrestored (white specs and hairs pop up occasionally) but this is a great transfer of one of my all time favourite movie rentals from yesteryear. MVD didn't announce anything about the source but rest assured, if you're a fan of the film, you've never seen it look this good.
