I’m guessing if I were to buy the box on it’s own, my previous slipped editions likely won’t fit into it?

Correct. In the pic I posted on the previous page, you can see how tightly everything fits into the box.

I personally found these covers more enticing and typically I too am in favor of original poster art.

While I can’t comment on the booklet in the new BD set since I don’t have it I can confirm that this was fixed for the booklet in the DVD set.

Shame to read about the issues with the Creature set. I still really want to pick up this set though. How likely is it that they'll offer a replacement program? I don't really want to hold off because of one disc...

Unlikely from what I'm reading.

Amazon lists 24 discs which if you add up all the individual discs in each set including the duplicates and add one for ‘43 Phantom that number would be correct.

Terrible packaging. Been through 3 sets now and all of them either have dented corners, torn plastic wrap, and all of them have the top coming unglued with big air bubbles. On top of all that the creature set is messed up.

I can’t begin to describe how disappointed I am in this set and how it was handled. I passed on all the individual sets and waited for this. What a cheap product and a huge letdown. Poor quality. Sad sad day

I agree with all the packaging problems. My set is the same. Content wise I am happy, other than the Revenge Creature Black Lagoon 3D problem. Hope they fix that and offer a replacement.

I'm hoping that this claim is debunk'd

Have you heard ?

Has anyone checked The Invisible Man Blu-ray Collection ?

All, I think I found a work around for the Revenge of Creature From Black Lagoon 3D:

1. I noticed my TV (Vizio 3D TV) did no recognize the 3D content when I pressed play
2. I got the side by side images
3. I clicked menu setting on my remote, went to 3D, and selected "sensio" setting.

The video then played 3D just fine. Hope this helps anyone out there.

Yes this will work on certain TV's and Projectors, but infact this method of 3D means the image is compromised by halving the horizontal resolution.

Yes, I suspect it is just a work around. The 3D still looks pretty good. I've noticed a few black flashes, but nothing terrible.

Hopefully Universal will release a fixed disc replacement, but no guarantees there.

It's cool they're using a chipboard artbox (from what I can tell) instead of flimsy cardstock. It looks like a slightly smaller version of the Halloween 15-disc set. Also, the booklet is actually bound, which is cool because the one in the Essentials set (at least the UK edition) is stapled.

I was really wanting to buy this box set but screw it now. Not dealing with shit packaging and a messed up Creature set. Saves me money is all I can say. I wanted to watch all these movies since I've only seen a few of them but not now. I'll just wait until around Halloween when TCM shows the main ones. Screw it.

Yeah me too - I was really tempted, but the problem with this has put me off purchasing. Especially as I'm outside the US, so even if they do a replacement program I would never be eligible.

The booklet is the same one from the US Essentials set.

A stapled book is actually much better as you don't have to worry about the spine creasing or breaking

On the plus side, when they finally figure this out, they'll probably heavily discount this set to get rid of the ones with the bad discs, with hopes people don't know about the issue.
