Of course he is right, that's why I posted it.
And people who are right should be posting over @ AVS to inform more people, to reach a larger audience and spread the good news...the truth, to help future audio/video component purchasers, to educate with scientific facts and with value oriented products, sales awareness and trusty audio/video dealers, and all that jazz.

I wouldn’t like to say!

LP? In what context my friend? I can’t remember what I was saying about it.

On her shirt it says LP (topleft). ...An analog fan?
* That is my own personal question; you have nothing to do with it.

Ahh, sorry just switched to my reading glasses!

Not sure, that’s Geoff’s team (Crystal Palace). He should be able to tell you. I would guess the P would be Palace but not sure of the L.

That's a footy thing, the backroom staff have their initials on their outfits, e.g. Roy Hodgson would have RH and so on. It even extends to the Palace cheerleaders.

found value in the Lowry Process in that for their content, it apparently increased the detail in the images rather than softening them.
When Lowry are on song I've found value in their process, the Aliens Blu-ray is a thing of wonder. It's just a shame that so many examples of it are of the older type with lots of their patented frozen grain swimming about in the image.

Otherwise it's not really telling us anything majorly new, that 4-perf 35mm really does top out at about 4K in real world terms just as long as the image is being oversampled at source with a >4K scan. Doing a 10K scan with a Lowry top-up could eke out a fraction more, but given the costs and technical logistics involved we're a long, long way from that becoming anything other than a curio.

Geoff knows his Crystal Palace footy and it also brings to mind some ironic wordplay regarding LP. One moment while I find the respective links to illustrate.

Correct, again - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...g#post14623980
Although, I was reading a post on another thread just yesterday where it is obvious that some hobbyists still don’t understand (or refuse to take time to read SMPTE paper of the year's) the difference between inherent resolution of 35mm film and scanning (harvesting) resolution.

Yes to the eagle, and she’s actually a rescue bald eagle from Canada , no less. It is rather ironic that if one looks closely at the center of the image of this LP UK album cover – https://www.ebay.com/p/Only-by-the-N...usic/238735451

It is/based on a picture of Kayla (seriously, no joke)….

With good reason. Alien also looks stunning. The box set along with Twin Peaks are my most prized discs.

Well, sure. Now that we're actually getting 4K content from oversampled scans then the need to artificially bake in more detail in a 1080p rendition becomes less of a concern, although it's interesting that the same scale applies to 4K i.e. once we're into the 8K display realm then a Lowry'd 4K master will hold more detail than an untouched one.
