I made the mistake of buying this one for 9.99 and the color and brightness look wrong to me, so I put the Blu-ray in. This will go in my junk pile.

For what it’s worth. Saw it in IMAX and it did not look cool and washed out like the Blu-ray. UHD may not be exact, but it’s much closer to theatrical. Nearly all movies are much warmer looking in the theater than at home.

Strange. I’ve never personally seen an IMAX presentation that didn’t look washed out compared to my home setup.

Well considering commercial projectors are calibrated to 5400K it’s not surprising the BD looks cooler.

I'm just glad they chose to botch the UHD for one of the few TC movies I don't really care about.

Amen. The HDR, colors, and sound make it a much better presentation. If it had the same sharpness at the BD, it would be top shelf.

The BD is sharper but by no means is the UHD "blurry".

For the record, I never said the UHD of Oblivion was ugly or even unwatchable. I said is that it is indeed filtered with plenty of grain and fine detail lost.

There is more to good PQ than just sharpness, yes

One of the most accurate indicators for identifying a troll is a poster who makes exactly the same point in almost exactly the same way in innumerable posts, posted in a short time frame. Somebody who does such things is a troll. Think about it.

Why? Don’t you have a Sony TV? It probably automatically sharpens it, even if sharpness is set to 50 or off. Sony started pulling this trick ever since 2010’s. And it’s across all video products, PlayStation, Blu-ray players, etc. And it can’t be defeated. One of the reasons I sold my A1E and got a C8.
