I’ve never heard that he was sued into writing it.

I’ve heard that he wrote it because he didn’t make any money on the first one and wanted to get paid.

...I think it’s one of the better sequels among old school horror franchises.

He has agreed to make The Fog as his follow up film with the same producer as Halloween but he then went to another company and made it there, he was then given the choice to either write Halloween 2 or be sued for breach of (verbal) contract.

According to Shout's website, it states, "Product Note: The national street date title has been moved one week to October 16, 2018." I wonder why the change of release date?

Maybe to release the same week the new one hits theaters? Not sure.

I really like both of these. Especially the Season of the Witch steelbook. Probably will end up just purchasing that one, because I already have two other copies of Halloween II and I can’t seem to find any reasons for myself to get another haha.

I preordered II, if it was just a steelbook I would have passed. Since it’s a new 4 K remaster I had to get it. I’m passing on part III though my copy in t(e boxset will suffice,

Sorry for random thinking; wouldn't the third film be better if when the guy in the bar was looking up at the tv instead of seeing the trailer for "Halloween", saw a news story honoring the 4th anniversary of the "Haddonfield Massacre" They could have used the same footage, or alternate footage of Laurie being wheeled to the ambulance from Halloween 2. Wouldn't that have made the movie cooler?

For those who own the boxset and planning on getting these two for the new 4K restorations, be like me and just get the discs with the keepers of 2 and 3 out then put in the steelbooks in place of them.

I don't think so. The fact that kids are going to meet their doom after tuning into the first Halloween movie is what makes it cool.

More like put the new movie discs from the steelbooks into the existing cases in the box set with glorious theatrical poster art.

Good cause I hate to say it but I’m getting older and need the subtitles for clarity and soft spoken scences on various movies

Pretty sure 2-3 are the only ones in that set without subtitles (apparently the only Scream Factory discs not to have them), but these reissues should fix that. They also don't have scene selection menus (but they do have chapter stops).

Nah III is too outlandish to be incorporated into the same universe as the far more grounded original.

I plan on pre ordering both from Diabolik when the listing goes up but if you have an FYE in your area they will have both in store.

I have Amazon pre-orders in, so they're on there. If you mean Best Buy then maaaaybe, they do carry some of the bigger Scream releases.

Every Scream Bluray I've purchased (Army of Darkness, The Thing, Carrie, Exorcist III, Jeepers Creepers, Halloween Boxset etc) has been from Best Buy. I'm hoping the pre-orders for these and the [Rec] boxset show up soon

The previous transfers oh H2 always looked really dark. I wonder if this new 4K transfer will be a bit brighter.
