WOW!!!! Both The Satanic Rites of Dracula and Dracula A.D. 1972 finally coming to Blu-ray! Amazing news!

Hopefully releases for both in the UK won't be far away.

I'd also think the Horror Ritual/Oath should be included.

Hey, so is the US version of DRACULA A.D. 1972 slightly trimmed for a PG rating?

This is day one for me, even though I already have the earlier German release. AD’72 is my favorite after HOD. Has an actual release date been revealed?

They've not even released their previous 2 Dracula films (Risen from the Grave & Taste the Blood) in the 3 years since they came out elsewhere so it seems unlikely.

A good opportunity maybe for the first boxset on the HMV Premium collection where most unreleased Warner titles end up

I can't believe it!!! I'm so glad these are WAC but had no idea WB would ever touch Satanic Rites. That's incredible simply for ever being picked up by a major label at all.

Hopefully this opens the Hammer floodgates here in the US finally. AD 1972 is a surprisingly engaging watch despite the poor reputation. I'd argue its certainly the best in the series since Prince of Darkness since Cushing finally returns. Satanic Rites is really bad but has such a great central idea that you could see it working plus Cushing always can give gravitas to even the worst of material.

I'm actually glad this is happening as opposed to a V2 box set because this way we get proper encodes and if there are any available extras WAC would try to include them as opposed to the more barebones approach of the V1 box. (I know they tried to get the UK Mummy extras but didn't want to pay the fees.) Plus we get cases with original art instead of the stupid cardboard sleeves! YAY!

I actually have Taste The Blood of Dracula as it's a region free release.

Have seen Dracula Has Risen From The Grave numerous times, but am yet to own that on Blu-ray, but I most probably will pick it up at some point as it is also a region free release.

It most certainly is a very good opportunity! Fingers crossed!

Each to their own of course, but for me personally, The Satanic Rites of Dracula is by far the weaker of the two. Dracula A.D. 1972 get's so much hate, which I really can't understand. One of my personal favourites from Hammer

If you want to see much more of Munro (and have a better funnier film to boot) just buy StarCrash! With added Hoff! Its an acquired taste but its great in its own way. Plus a semi-naked Munro for most of the film certainly helps!

Great news, but this just increases the frustration over why Warner Bros still sits on Curse Of Frankenstein and Horror Of Dracula. I cling to the hope that they are "saving the best for last" and will eventually release long-awaited restorations of both films with plenty of extras befitting these two landmark Hammer films.

Warner have not "picked it up". They paid Hammer to make it in 1973 and have owned it since then.
Even though they tried to disown it by allowing another studio to retitle it, re-edit and release it in 1977 they still own it

I only have a meager 8 Archive titles and I don't think I've ever gotten any of them on release date. I want to pre-order but I remember somebody mentioning somewhere that Amazon sometimes didn't get them out till later on some titles. Is this true?

I need to have both of these Dracula movies filling my eyes on October 16th so I need to order them from someone who gets them out on release date.

It won't be, because it's barebones. Lame. C'mon, Warner, you can do far better than that. I'll be buying the Anolis version with extras, including that tasty 45 minute documentary.

......filled with unseen footage that Kickstarter mugs paid for to be included on The Warner Years documentary.
Anolis buyers will actually get more of the filmed footage than the suckers (like me) who paid for the crowd funder from Diabolique

It was such a shame that she got killed off so early in the film. She was definitely one of the highlights.

Love the film though, and an essential purchase

Love this one! Way better than Satanic Rites. The datedness of it jyst makes it more appealing to me. A snapshot if that great era.
My second favorite Lee Drac behind Taste the Bloid of Dracula. Groovy, Baby!
