For the record I agree with the camp that's saying it's too dark. Not really a horrible thing but toss in the sound being low and lacking good range its really distracting. And nice swipe at SW fans who aren't happy with disney S"j"W films. Like anyone that isn't satisfied with a film having star wars in the title falls in a certain category.

Not everyone, but you certainly do for using terms like that.

After Revenge of the Sith, before Rogue One (or Rebels, if you're into that).

It starts 13 years before ANH and ends 10 years before ANH.

Something I haven’t seen mentioned much which I find cool is that the first section of Solo happens right around about the same time the opening section of Rogue One happens. Then the majority of Rogue One obviously happens much later than most of Solo. So this means technically speaking the order goes like this:

19BBY Revenge of the Sith
13BBY Solo/Rogue One (prologue scenes)
10BBY most of Solo
0BBY most of Rogue One
0BBY A New Hope

I just finished reading the novel for Solo, in the epilogue there is conversation with Saw and the Enfys people, Jyn Erso was present at 11 years old.

Any interaction with Han and any of those characters?

Solo deserved more success than it got. Just unfortunate that bad marketing and release decisions hindered the film's box office potential. I suppose TLJ's divisive response had a hand, which i dunno why one would connect that film with Solo considering different filmmakers, and different trains of continuity. It was a fun sci-fi/western/heist movie with the Star Wars universe as the playground.

No part of Solo was a fun heist movie.

There were two heist sequences and both were pretty fun IMO.

You need to watch more heist movies. The heist parts, like on the train were pretty damn dull.

It’s a popcorn film designed to appeal to adults and kids so it’s never gonna match the intensity of something like Heat. But the train heist had some nice tension to it and a spectacular setting. And the Kessel heist absolutely had me grinning. You can’t go wrong with a bunch of angry Wookiees.

It's unfortunate that the negativity and lack of support from some fans also played a hand in its underwhelming box office numbers. Make no mistake, the fanbase was responsible as well.
