Black Sunday has that wonderful John Williams score, so I would love to see a TT release. And a fantastic performance by Robert Shaw.

Major David Kabakov: Now, just blink for "yes", or die for "no".

I agree. TWO-MINUTE WARNING is far, far better than the critics made it out to be. Fantastic performances and some disarmingly good writing here and there, but that shot design is what really blew my mind. More diopter shots than three De Palma films put together. It's also extremely suspenseful and at times very creepy.

Of the films that I bought during the sale, I think Auto Focus will likely be the first one up. I haven't seen it since it was released so it will be a nice trip down memory lane with what I recall are amazing performances by Kinnear and Dafoe.

New sub-label perhaps for TV movies?

Another film from the Universal deal, apparently.

I'd be more excited if it were István Szabó's Sunshine.

I read on another forum that the Elvis Presley film “Loving You” is coming in December under the Redwind label.

I created a label thread for Redwind. I'll build it out when more is known and keep it updated like I do this one.

Wow, this is certainly a surprise. What what other films they have in the queue.

Quote:
Redwind Productions went back to the original film elements to create a 4K DPX scan, fully restoring the film to its original aspect ratio for presentation in the stunningly superior Blu-Ray Master format. This is a lost treasure, as movies go, and Redwind Productions are privileged to have the opportunity to bring this poignant, beautiful motion picture to home video for the very first time in any format.

That got massive ratings when it was first broadcast. When I was growing up the soundtrack LP was in every record shop for years afterwards - and I do mean every record shop. Even on family holidays to Greece and Tunisia you'd see copies in record store windows.

Redwind is not a new label, it's been around since we started. Previously its only releases were "KA SHEN'S JOURNEY," a documentary about Nancy Kwan, and "HOLIDAY IN SPAIN" a cinerama film - "SUNSHINE" and "LOVING YOU" are the only 2 titles scheduled at this time. So don't expect much - 4 in 8 years aint so big of a deal!

Why the separate label?

Maybe not that big of a deal after all.

From other forum when asked about the title output for Redwind.

Very few - so far the label only put out one Cinerama film - as far as we know, LOVING YOU and one other title are planned, so don't expect much!

Our partner in Twilight Time, Brian Jamieson, set up Redwind when he was making his documentary on Nancy Kwan - Holiday in Spain was a personal project for him, so hence, it's on Redwind. Likewise, Sunshine and Loving You involved very expensive transfers (ground up restorations from the camera elements in both cases), and to ensure those costs were not borne by TT it was better to place them elsewhere.

Beat the Devil is a real surprise - I was sure either Criterion or Cohen would get that.

Untamed has a superb sweeping and exciting Franz Waxman score and Rita Moreno does get one great line as the one-legged Richard Egan's gal - "What's left of heem eez mynn!"

The trouble with those forties Fox Technicolor films is they only have dupes left of them, & they're a pale shadow of what they should look like, if what's been released already is anything to go by.

I'm a little surprised TT got Beat the Devil, but I'm glad it's finally coming out! Saw it a while back and liked it a lot. I'd hoped it would come from a label that would give us a well-turned-out release, so I'll probably hold out until it's in a sale in case one of the UK labels get it... I'd love a copy that includes the original cut, even if it's in SD, just for curiosity's sake.
