Judging from all of their previous work, it seems Platinum Dunes is incapable of making a realistic (or, you know, good) horror film.

Without Englund as Freddy, it isn't a Nightmare on Elm Street film. He was the soul of the films and still to this day, had one of the most menacing performances in the first N.O.E.S movie. I don't think there is one actor who can replace him

I totally disagree. The remakes of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies were better then the corny originals.

Sorry but if anyone who thinks Ringu was good needs to watch more movies. i have a hard time believing a 25 year old Japanese actress is twelve.

Agreed to disagree (on the first one, that is as "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning" was not a remake... the second is even worse than the remake, though).

I think those other remakes are a little insignificant. This isn't the same as other horror series. It was a starring vehicle with under tones of female empowerment. Not to mention the crazy dream sequences.

To me it's pretty unique and has more problems being done well than most horror remakes.

Okay, first off there is only ONE original. You said ORIGINALS. Throw out TCM2 and whatever other nonsense followed. And if you seriously think the original TCM is corny then I don't know what you are looking for in a horror film?!?
Oh yeah, and I hope you enjoyed getting ripped off when you purchased your $10 ticket to see The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning. What a bunch of bullcrock that was. Beginning??? How about, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Same EXACT Movie As the Other One You Saw Only A Few Years Earlier

You kiddies do know that the director (Marcus Nispel) of the new Friday The 13th remake is the same director as the Texas Chainsaw remake right? Just thought I'd let you know since several of you hate the Texas remake but are looking forward to F13th. LOL.

what does that have to do with anything? I LOVED Saving Private Ryan and Schindler's List but HATED Hook and A.I. Those movies were also done by the same director.....
