I should be receiving this television as early as tomorrow, or perhaps sometime later in the week. It will all depend on when things ship and arrive. Pretty excited for it, honestly. I've been looking to move my Sony X800 to the 4K television I've recently hung up in the bedroom, and to put something nicer with my main television in the man cave. Should be interesting to see how this stacks up!

Thanks for help guys but I think I figured out what was wrong. I did the factory reset and tried all the wiring etc and then I realised the player was quite hot from the bottom. I had the 820 on the top shelf and the hot as **** denon avr was on the bottom shelf on a 2 shelf tv cabin (dont know if I use the right words but I hope you get the picture). I think what I witnessed was due to overheating the player. I switched the 820 to bottom and avr to top shelf and now everything works like a charm. The avr also now has more room to breath so in the long run this was a must thing to do. I just hope I didn't do any long term damage to my unit. Atleast it's now working faster than ever.

^^^ Heat can be a big problem. When you consider that they put a fan on the unit placing it above an AVR is a big no no. Glad it fixed your issue.

Did you check the heat below and around your player?

Tonight I tried my Inglourious Basterds (The Tarantino XX set release) disc on the 820 and was getting bad glitching of the video. Even pausing would hold the glitched artifacts.
The disc seems to run fine on my PS4. I see there’s an FAQ on the Panasonic website regarding his specific disc and firmware. As far as I know my 820 has the latest firmware, did a check right after seeing the FAQ. (http://eng-ca.faq.panasonic.com/app/...basterds-on-my) I tested other discs on the 820 and no other signs of glitches. So, in conjunction with finding the Panasonic FAQ info regarding this title - does this disc not work properly with Panasonic hardware? Hope his isn’t too out of line with this topic. |

No future VUDU.
No current or future buying UB9000 for me. No UB820 either for that matter. Which also means No such presents given to family, kids. Last edited by E6AtmosVuduDV; 11-14-2018 at 05:14 AM. |

Yea that TRULY sucks. Best disc player though. Love the HDR options. I have a bunch of DV and HDR10 movies on VUDU which is a shame, but I have the physical discs of all those movies anyway so why stream them? Some things like Ant man and wasp are in DV on vudu, but not from disc which kinda sucks. I think Infinity War may be the same way.

I know Robert has spoken to Panasonic reps about adding Vudu...so they are aware of the request from the market. I ended up buying an inexpensive Sony 700 for HDR Vudu viewing....once Panny adds it, I'll move the Sony player to our bedroom set up.

Just received my UB820 and got it setup, for those interested I'm running a 50' DynamicView Active High Speed HDMI Cable (monoprice) for video, and a separate HDMI audio cable to receiver, and it's all working great so far, but time will tell.

Robert Zohn prev reported that demand for the 820 and 9000 exceeds supply. Price discounts in the near future are unlikely. In the long term, maybe decreases for the 820. The 9000 is most likely carried by high end A/V stores so price cuts wouldn’t happen until end of model sales way down the line.

What he said above. Also, there may be new models next year with an improved chip, probably at the end of summer if at all. Panasonic at CES will be unvieling the HCX PRO chip. If this happens, I'll likely sell my 820 for a very slight loss and upgrade. It'll probably be worth it. Til then, the Ub820 combined with my Oppo 203 does the trick ![]() Last edited by ray0414; 11-15-2018 at 03:21 AM. |

Plus we might see players in couple years with 8K streaming apps.
