Got my fingers crossed Target won't goof up with my pre-order of the Splinter variant...but usually, Target hasn't screwed up much on my end (except when I had Maximum Overdrive pre-ordered for my brother and didn't actually ship it...though I was able to pick it up for it at Walmart that week).

Thankfully, I went the DiabolikDVD route for Maniac.

got my ZOMBIE Bridge cover from Diabolikdvd

It looks good in person

I agree with others we didn't really need that blood splatter of the 4K Restoration.

Its been a few years since I've seen zombie. Just started. Did they change the opening credits? I don't remember the white on black text with the theme playing. I cant compare to the previous release because I sold it. Am I crazy or did it get changed?

My order arrived today from Grindhouse (along with a free poster)!

Though I have noticed 2 things:

1. The film starts literally at the first frame (no black follow by a hard cut).

2. The font of the opening credits have been changed again. This time, based on the font of the US trailer/TV spots.

That's one thing I'll NEVER understand. What's the deal with opening titles to Zombie and why do they change the font constantly on every home video release? Surely the REAL opening titles/fonts survived?

It seemed appropriate when the first time I saw Zombie, it was from a rented VHS, and it had different titles depending on where you looked. The cover said Zombie, the VHS label had a typo that said "Zombe", and I think this one said "Zombi 2" in the opening even though it was English dubbed.

Is the color damage still present in the underwater scene?

If you are referring to the green splotches that show up, then yes.

I should have typed “negative damage.” Apologies.

Maybe I’m in the minority on this, but I was hoping that it would get fixed with this release. To me, this is no different than removing scratches, speckles and other damage. With each uptick in resolution, this issue becomes more distacting, IMO.

It wasn't as bad as the previous release though.

I think they re-did them. They were never that sharp. Same font, just re-done. Not sure if I support that.

Maniac 4K is the same way. While the movie looked amazing the font reminded me of word art. The color and lettering looked the same but upgraded somehow.

Opening credits are a non issue for me with this release. Looks incredible, retiring my arrow steel.

It's a non-issue, really. The PQ is indeed incredible. I can only imagine how this would look on UHD

Received all three of my slipcovers today, they look good. I only opened The Bridge and keeping the other two sealed since that seems to be the least popular (Splinter being #1 in sales). Saw the first 10 minutes on my TV picture quality and audio is impressive, we've come a long way since the Anchor Bay DVD. Great job on the restoration by Blue Underground.

Agreed, that 199X dvd is what I have and I must say, I was in awe of this new Blue Underground presentation. On a side note, I would love similar upgrades of The New York Ripper and Contraband.

Wait, the credits start over the boat instead of going over the black screen with music? I hope not...

I also notice the font changing for the title. I did not like the one used by BU last time around.

As long as font is the same, I am okay with this. One thing I wish is that when trailers are included, they would upgrade the quality of those clips using the restorations.. Seeing VHS quality trailers is terrible (thinking Scorpion's Murder Rock trailer here).

I personally love old cropped VHS trailers, reminds me how far we've come in home video!

I would support having the option to have both high quality and old beat up trailers though, just don't want everything upgraded. Those old nasty looking things hold a lot of charm, and nostalgia, for those like me.
