I think the list is missing Val Kilmer.
Because of his God complex this guy has not been able to get a starting role lately.

Jack Black... no matter how he tries to take himself seriously, he still always comes across as an immature nutjob. And, the worst part is, the harder he tries to be serious, the more fake he becomes.

Nominating Tom Cruise. As much as I liked Will Smith, his movies messages are getting dumber and more arrogant by the second. Goddamn Scientologists.

I think you could safely add anyone who's been a cast member of Saturday Night Live since the 90's on to the list...which is also about the same list of "actors" I find most obnoxious.

But as a not entirely obvious choice, I'd like to nominate Jack Nicholson. Not because he's a bad actor, but simply because he only ever plays the exact same character in every movie. I don't know if that is his choice or not, but it's gotten pretty old at this point.

Okay, I just don't see the Will Ferrel thing. Call me stupid, ignorant whatever. I'm not saying he makes masterpieces of cinema but some of his stuff is funny. I thought Anchorman was pretty funny and Talladega Nights had it's moments... ("Dear, 8 pounds, 7 ounce, baby Jesus...") And his duet with Jack Black at the Oscars a few years back was hillarious. And for some reason I can't understand, I enjoyed Elf.

So what exactly is it about him that annoys so much? I'm open to discussion.

Except for Stranger than Fiction (2006), and Elf (2003).

He seems to have no restraint, taste, or sense of control. A comedian needs to seem out of control: without actually doing it. Ferrell crosses the line to parody: even when he does straight comedy.

I believe that’s his problem. Even Robin Williams, who has similar problems. Has been able to control himself more often than Will. Jack Black is another who has the same weakness.

Modern comedians mistake outrageous for funny. They think shocking leads to laughing. Will mistakes freak show for comedy. Gross out for laugh out; there is some relation between eww and haha. But Ferrell ramps it into the sky. And that is his failure: and will be for some time. He’ll still makes tons and money, in the bargain. And maybe that’s the plan.

Who knows?

Those are actually very good points. Not only about Ferrel but about many comedians these days.
