I'm surprised honestly they're releasing the next Spider-man movie this close off the heels of Endgame. Let alone releasing the trailer this soon when the trailer for Endgame focuses on the loss of characters some of whom we know are fine barely two weeks after we see it. They held off on trailers for Civil War barely a few months before its release, I wish they'd do the same for Far from Home. Venom and Spider-verse are more than enough to keep audience's mind on these characters until Marvel decides to release their trailer.

I'm sure the average moviegoer who isn't up to date on all things Marvel related are unaware there is a Spider-Man sequel coming out. In their minds, Spidey is dead in the MCU. And had Sony release the FFH trailer before Endgame even hits theaters, it would spoil the fact that Peter comes back from the dead and confuse the hell out of your uninformed moviegoer as they thought he had died in Infinity War. It's a tricky situation to be in. For both Marvel and Sony. Which is why Spider-Man should never had been killed in the first place. To avoid all this. |

I do wonder if Sony wants to let Spider-Verse have a bit of time in release before marketing this, just so it doesn't distract from that movie's run. |

Yes, the average moviegoer would assume Marvel isn't gonna permanently kill of their biggest money makers, but then Spider-man isn't nearly as big a moneymaker as Iron Man, so they didn't. Homecoming made less than Black Panther, and eight other MCU movies so its not the biggest earner yet. Also a lot of people needed to see Superman in the Justice League trailer to be believe he'd come back and he's the face of that cinematic universe and I've heard enough people try to convince me that with the Fox merger Marvel just killed these characters off to make room for X-Men, Deadpool and Fantastic Four movies in their schedule. ![]() |
