There's more to the Bubble than that! I was lucky enough to see the expanded version last year. There's a very eerie scene set at night that stands out. The other scenes help flesh out the plot.

From the site: By the end of 1953, interest in 3-D was quickly declining and these features were released only flat: Dragonfly Squadron, Jivaro, The Command, Top Banana, The Diamond Wizard, The Bounty Hunter and Son of Sinbad.

The Command, Bounty Hunter and Son Of Sinbad are all held by WB. Leaving Diamond Wizard and Top Banana. It would be great if TB's missing footage was found...

Rest assured, Arch Oboler's THE BUBBLE Roadshow restoration will be much more than just 18 minutes of additional footage.

Among the extras:

New scene to scene color timing by Jack Theakston. (The original release was rushed and the lab/timer in New York that we trusted with the color correction did a terrible job.)

New digital clean-up by Thad Komorowski. (Again, we were rushed on the first release in 2014 to meet a deadline and there was no time - or funds available - for a complete image restoration.)

In addition, there will be some incredible extras including test footage shot by 3-D pioneer - and Space-Vision inventor - Colonel Robert V. Bernier in 1951, unseen anywhere in 68 years!

Plus a few 3-D surprises...

I just love it when Bob feeds us an obscure hint and it keys off a regular sh**storm of speculation! Shows how much strong interest is going on here.

Unfortunately, my days of dropping hints are over.

Somebody recently jumped the gun and went above our head to confirm a title.

It caused some issues so no more clues from me.

Oh, trust me, we have too much respect for our audience base to simply re-issue a title without making it worth your while.

There will be some exclusive 3-D extras on this edition which will not be available anywhere else!

In addition, there are many more surprise features from 3-D's Golden Age including one title that was never released in third-dimension that will make its official debut on 3-D Blu-ray in 2019

Unless I reading it wrong, it should be a title from the 1950's.

OK. From the info above:

1. Jivaro
2. 3-D RARITIES II with EL CORAZON Y LA ESPADA
3. THE BELLBOY AND THE PLAYGIRLS and ADAM AND 6 EVES
4. Roadshow version of THE BUBBLE.
5. DIAMOND WIZARD could be the "Never released in third-dimension" title.

The possible sixth title?

Bob, a Very Merry Christmas to you, Greg, Thad and Jack.

Thank you for all the hard work you and your compatriots have done over the past year to keep 3D alive. A lot of ups and a few downs, but a great year for 3D, largely thanks to you. How did we ever get so lucky as to get you in our corner?

And so I say with glad 3D tidings, best of Wishes to you, Bob, and the boys, and I hope you each get whatever your heart desires.

Sincerely,
Bill Batchelor

ps And I still remember the first time I ever wrote you after you said off the cuff in a thread, that a movie warehouse was looking for something and had stumbled upon the old 3D footage from War of the Worlds, and you let me know very nicely that it was an inside joke and that no 3D footage of War of the Worlds ever existed. Ha.Ha.

That would be something akin to alchemy, since you would essentially be duplicating gold!

Band doesn’t actually have the rights to Parasite, well, for the most part, I guess he owns the VHS rights in perpetuity but not DVD and Blu-Ray. That’s why he made a bunch of retro big box VHS sets of Parasite to sell on his website but doesn’t sell any DVD version.

I'm sorry to hear this. I hope that the issues aren't costing us a title or two, because that would be a shame. No matter how tempted to ask for confirmation I've been over the past five years, I know that patience is always better.

At any rate, Happy Holidays my friend. I hope there is much 3-Dness left in the future!

Watched Sangaree last night. Excellent 3D and sound. Also watched the restoration demo - great work on restoring from what you were given.

What a tangled web then, determining the blu ray rights to Embassy Pictures releases such as Parasite. From Wikipedia:

Currently, the majority of the best-known Embassy titles are controlled by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer due to previous VHS or DVD releases through their inheritance of PolyGram's “Epic” film library, with 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment handling distribution for MGM, and in turn sublicensed to other video companies for its prestige titles packaged as special collectors’ editions. Any other remaining titles are handled by Lionsgate Home Entertainment, due to their longtime relationship with StudioCanal over their Carolco library.
