I don't like some ppl worship the ground it walks on. Yes it's a good movie but it's far from classic.
While I understand the throngs of people that feel as you do - I have to say I've been a devotee from early on and it is EXACTLY what it should be. The complaint always sounds to me like those that rail against Cohen brothers movies for being weird with no point... Like, Who says there has to be a point? WHY should it move faster? Why should there be more action? I don't need it and I don't think the story does either. My own opinion of course... But in spite of those that feel it lacks luster - it oddly has perched itself atop the list of "Best Sci-Fi movie" surveys many times.

50 million Elvis fans can't be wrong, as they say...

I hate ALL of Sutherland's delivery. Like the... fat kid... with the... breathing... problem... on the... "Malcolm... in the... middle"... show...

I agree... seeing it without the voiceover is just fine, but would help less (pardon the pun) "tuned"-in folks. But I'm glad it's gone from the directors cut.

on the other side of the coin...

Many people hate the Harrison Ford VO in Blade Runner (Including Harrison), but I always liked it, and I'm glad to be able to see the theatrical version on Blu.

He played Riff Raff in Rocky Horror Picture Show. He also wrote the musical that the movie was based on.

Dark City is a solid film. I wouldnt say its an all-time classic or whatever, but defintely worth owning, especially for the fair price!

Bored Runner....err...ummmm...Blade Runner on the other hand is an atrocity. Nothing happens for two hours. Every scene takes 10 minutes longer than it should and Ford obviously phoned in his performance. Ive never understood the attraction this film. And I love 2001 and many of David Lynch's films so dont play the "Go watch Transformers" card on me either.

Whatever philosophical message BR was trying to send didnt make it to me. Batty's speech at the end was laughable, not thought-provoking. The whole andriod / meaning of life concept didnt mean crap to me. Robots can NOT feel unless they are programmed to do so, and even then its not the same thing as human emotion. Whatever.

Don't get too firmly caught up with her. Celebrities are....human. No difference from me and you.

She is just one of those hairy females. Maybe she fixed herself (hopefully on a regular basis). I could almost see some black arm hairs with that picture, but I am not sure.

Can't really go based on photo-shoots online. Try to find her on the streets or something and get a glimpse of how hairy she is for us.

2001 > Dark City > Star Wars IV > Blade Runner > Matrix

that's my sci-fi order...

It's not better than Blade Runner. The Blade Runner soundtrack alone is better than this movie. However, debatably, it could the best Sci-Fi film since blade runner (one that isn't mainstream anyhow).

Dark City goes into my all time top 10 Sci-Fi flicks. Maybe into the Top 5.
