Yippie! my copy is winging it's way to me from Bullmoose. I only saw this once in the theater, so I'm eager to see if it stands up to a second viewing.

How does this thread has so few posts?
I preordered the steelbook for 13eur.
I loved the movie at the theater, Michael never felt so frightening and dangerous.
My favorite scene was the first encounter between Michael and Allyson, the score during the scene gave me goose bumbs. Michael's appearance there felt like true danger through and through.

I found it interesting that the 4K edition was cheaper than the Blu Ray one on Amazon, so guess which one I purchased? Should arrive by tomorrow, as it shipped yesterday.

For me, MY Halloween cannon films are Halloween (1978), Halloween 2 followed by this new Halloween (2018).

I don't feel the events in Halloween 2 take anything away from this film. The story line about Michel and Laurie being related in part 2 is explained in this film as simply a rumor. That works for me.

I can even handle seeing Michael burn at the end of part 2 and somehow, surviving and end up in prison for this last installment. If I can see Jason die at the end of every Friday the 13th and somehow accept his return in the next film, I can certainly accept that Michael somehow survived being burned in pt.2.

Perhaps the ONLY thing neglected about Halloween 2 is the body count because in the new Halloween, they only reference the body count from the first film. I can just go ahead and overlook that as a continuity blooper.

Seeing the terror that Laurie continues to experience at the hospital in Halloween 2, really helps to explain her 20+ years of trauma in this film. For me....it works.

However....all the OTHER Halloweens.....I have officially deleted from my reality. LOL. They simply don't exist in MY world of Michael Myers.

Completely agree with this 100%. It's my "trilogy" as well!

But that wouldn't make much sense because Michael Burned at the end of Halloween II. Why would Laurie spend the next 40 years trying to trap him just to try and burn him alive again?

Just face it. H2 doesn't exist with the current timeline.

Also they say in the movie he killed 5 people. If 2 happened it would be in the double digits.
I’m glad the sibling story is wiped.

I already gave answers to this in my post that you are referring to. Did he really DIE at the end of 2? How many times has Jason DIED, and yet we accept his return in Friday the 13th, over and over again. Many people have been burned badly and somehow, survive. I said in my post, he COULD survive and end up in prison, which means Laurie would still be preparing for his return. And to imagine him surviving that fire, would give even MORE cause to her wanting to kill him herself.

As for the body count, I already said that is the ONE thing that is not consistent and therefor, I can simply take this as a continuity blooper.

I also said...this is MY Halloween world.....that makes it MY personal preference. No one can tell me my preference is wrong.....you can just simply disagree with it and let me live in my own fantasy world where pt.2 still exists.

I'm like 90% sure in Halloween 2018 they even describe how Michael was caught 40 years ago in that neighborhood just after the ending of Original Halloween.

I'm sorry to poke a hole. No harm in willfully ignoring some parts in order to maintain the illusion. Or just saying that everyone was temporarily on hallucinogens during that brief conversation.

Doesn't Halloween III include a TV showing a commercial for one of the earlier Halloween movies, or something like that? Myers is thus a fictional character in III's universe as in the real world, so III can't be canon to any of the other films.

Halloween III takes place in the mind of Scout Taylor-Compton soon after Rob Zombie's Halloween 2.

TV is airing the original Halloween in the background. Not focused on, not mentioned, but it is clearly there.
Of course now you could just say that's a clip from a true crime re-enactment show and then it's not fiction.

Halloween III is clearly supposed to take place in a different universe from the Michael Myers films, but you can use your head-cannon to say that the commercials and H1 footage on TV are for a true crime TV movie or something. They do call the film an “immortal classic” though.

I do find it interesting that they were already calling the film an “immortal classic” five years after the movie came out. We’re not calling any film from 2014 a classic yet.

While I cannot think of 2014 example, many are mighty close to calling Get Out just that.

Clearly it was a slow news day (until the heads of children all across the country started exploding into bugs and snakes) and that was a color piece on the Myers Massacre for the fifth year anniversary.
