Your Favorite Clint Eastwood Film?

What's your favorite Eastwood flick? Why is it?

really liked Changeling, i just found it to be the most powerful of all the films I've seen him direct and regardless of what people say i thought Jolie did a phenomenal job. Dirty Harry comes in at a close second (but not so much because it's powerful ). i have a feeling once i see The Outlaw Josey Whales I'll change my mind though...

Oh I adored it, too. It should have gotten Oscar consideration. It was classical Hollywood form, on full display. I'm sad to say it's an ill-breed…. I think. But, feel free to correct me, please.

By the way, did you see Gran Torino (2008)? What did you think?

I love so many of his films,but I'd have to say The Outlaw Josey Wales.Love the story and cinematography,and Eastwood's character has more depth than the western characters he'd portrayed up till then.
For basically the same reasons Unforgiven is right up there as well.

I agree totally about Jolie(and I've never been a huge fan of her's),she was fantastic,the most memorable part of this film in my opinion.

i did see gran torino, had very high hopes, but i came out of the theater thinking it was one of the worst Eastwood movies I've seen, namely as a result of the acting. i thought it had a good premise and script, but the way the dialogue was delivered was horrendous imo, especially the 2 hmong kids. i did some research of the movie and saw that most of the hmong were first time actors, and i applaud eastwood for choosing an authentic cast but i didn't think it strengthened the movie at all. eastwood himself seemed fairly stiff in the acting department, and many of his lines just made me cringe

I found it. One of the Best films of last year. Up there with Million Dollar Baby, truth be told. It require to 2 views to totally get it.

Darn it. We disagree totally again. The Indy 4 curse, I guess.

I found Torino grew with each viewing. Do you feel like Bill Murray yet?

Very tough and like Michael Bolton I celebrate his entire catalog. Kidding aside I think In the Line of Fire is the one I watch the most and just thought everything from the script to the acting was hitting on all cylinders. I also think because he wasn't directing for the first time in a while he was just having some fun acting and it shows through in the performance.

oh haha. yeh i saw indiana jones 4 like 5 times, didn't really like it any of those times when CGI unnecessarily takes over a movie I get easily turned off. i understood it's themes, purpose, etc, but didn't think it held a candle to the originals. as a stand alone action/adventure movie it was very good though.

back on track, i wasn't a huge fan of flags of our fathers either, despite going in knowing to expect a different type of war movie. ive heard letters from iwo jima is much more powerful and will be watching that soon.

I'm going to have to go with "Play Misty for Me" (1971) I just remember Mr. Eastwood being so cool. What a great directorial debut to boot.

His lines making you cringe. I think that may be a cultural thing. I grew up with Clint Eastwood. And I found Gran Torino (2008) a fitting and moving epitaph to his legendary career.

I think the movie appeals more in the Midwest and the South... than in the coasts. I think Million Dollar Baby (2004) did the opposite.

What did you think of Million Dollar Baby? Deserving of Best Picture that year?

Fair enough.

Call me crazy. The movie made me cry, at the end. More than once... When a film does that... I have to call it great. That doesn't happen often.

Both Million and Torino did that, to me.

I love that movie. That gag, made me love it. Plus the film was perfect.
