Unfortunately a lot of really great Asian films aren't on Blu yet, specifically the selection of S. Korean and Japanese movies is very limited.
That said, of what is available, most are quite good. I personally own Oldboy, I'm A Cyborg and The Host, but I would definitely recommend at least Infernal Affairs and Infernal Affairs II and Taegukgi. I understand Mongol, SPL, Ip Man & Exile are very good (BTW VHS4Ever, I believe Mongol is technically a Kazakhstani/Russian film) too. As for good Asian movies not on Blu, there are a ton but I'd recommend looking out for the following: Lady Vengeance, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, JSA: Joint Security Area, Save the Green Planet, Memories of Murder (fantastic film!), Electric Dragon 80,000 Volts, Survive Style 5+, Zatoichi, The President's Last Bang and A Bittersweet Life to name a few of my personal favorites. |

Here are some Asian Blu-rays I can recommend:
- Gegege no Kitaro : great movie if you're into Youkai - Monkey Magic (Saiyuuki is the original title) : remake, but still good. The Blu isn't out yet, but I saw the movie on TV and for that price, it's worth a blind buy Last Samurai is a movie I'd like to recommend for the performance of Ken Watanabe alone, but it's a pity they just had to throw Tom Cruise in there (he really sticks out of the movie, in a bad way). However, western versions of the movie don't have Japanese audio, so you'd better avoid it like the plague and get the Japanese release instead. |

don't know if this is your kind of movie but "Chungking Express" (Criterion release) just came out on Blu ray a few weeks ago.
Also, probably not many peoples favorite movie but I actually enjoyed "House of Fury" which is a martial arts movie. Didn't see anyone mention it but Bruce Lee's "Enter the Dragon" is on Blu ray as well. |
