i'm super late to the rz h1/2 hate parties, but i actually really love those movies. the first remake is my fourth favorite in the franchise. i admit i didn't like h2 the first few watches but now i absolutely love it. people really seem to overlook scout taylor-compton's performance in that movie. i think she did a wonderful job portraying a person whose mind was messed up from going through such a traumatic experience. i thought danielle harris was really good, too.

and, to chime in on the blu-ray for the new movie, i was incredibly disappointed. i really wanted to see this alternate ending, especially since the shot on the back cover of allyson holding the knife isn't even in the movie -- it's even outside. the deleted scenes were disappointing, and the little 4-minute featurettes universal releases and then just slaps onto the blu-ray and call it a day isn't gonna cut it anymore because they did the same thing with the strangers: prey at night.

I’m genuinely shocked that the scene where the psychiatrist is picking his boogers in the car didn’t make the final cut.

...Alfred Hitchcock would’ve been proud.
