I was in the same dilema, bought 50PZ85U and was thinking of exchanging for 800U because of the 24p. i took my blu ray player to Magnolia to check 800U out, hooked it up to 800u and played Iron man in 24p, you know what it has really bad flicker in 24p mode, it's unwatchable. So i decided to keep my 85U because you are paying for a feature that doesnt work right on 800u. I am sure picture quality would be little better than 85U.

I noticed one more thing i used to watch blu rays with player (Panaonic BD55) set to 1080p 60HZ with 85U. When I switch it to 24p on the player it looks like its minimizing the judder on 85U. I am guessing that 85U is doing a better job in 2:3 pull down than the blu ray player, i may be wrong. What do you guys say?

Thanks
I have the 800u 50" and the BD30,no flicker on my set.It was made in December so maybe they have corrected the problem if there was one.
