I believe you have one more 00s title to announce from the MGM deal, so this makes sense.
The one possibility that immediately comes to mind is the Amityville Horror remake, though that's solely because it's now the last MGM-released horror Blu yet to receive another release by a boutique label. I'm not convinced it is this though (I wouldn't call it a box office hit), just throwing it out there. Last edited by BarnDoor; 02-08-2019 at 12:08 AM. |

Agreed! Even though I just bought the Universal Vault version a couple months ago, I'm happy to upgrade. |

Alas, it's no good to me as I has got to import it. But I'm glad that it's going to be carried on US store shelves nonetheless. As an import I can see this costing upwards of £30 quid, probably nearer £40, but I wants it!! |

I know both Kino and Olive have released Monogram films on blu...titles such as Invisible Ghost, Return of the Ape Man, Voodoo Man, etc....as a result of their dealings with Paramount. Acknowledging that Kino has no current deal with Paramount, I just had a broader question(s): to what degree does Paramount have Monogram titles to license? MGM seems to have some, too...the Charlie Chan films, The Face of Marble, etc. Just curious how many have good 35mm elements with studios and how they even ended up with them. Titles like Kidnapped ending up at Warners I think I get, as Monogram evolved into Allied Artists, most of which stuff ended up at WB. But how did MGM and Paramount acquire stuff? And are the elements for most of this stuff M.I.A., so good luck of seeing many more emerge on blu (not even taking into account the dampening effect on sales that so many budget label releases have had)? I'd love to see blus of the remaining Lugosi titles, the East Side Kids films, etc.

I’m very curious about this too — even generally speaking in the boutique home media label industry, I’ve wondered how many units a particular release has to sell before being considered a “good seller.” 1,000? 3,000? Will Hannibal have to sell 5,000 or 10,000 UHDs before Kino will deem the format worth further investment?

Really? That's amazing! I just watched the Kino DVD a week ago. It's still so amazingly sleazy, and a real stunner for anyone who's never seen an "adults only" roadshow picture from this time. Esper really let his imagination run wild into the realms of relentless bad taste on this one.
When I was teen in the early '80s my local PBS station did a month of un-cut exploitation films, with this one among them. I always wondered if they knew about the acts of sadism and fleeting bits of nudity, or just figured they needn't worry about a film from 1934 and let it roll? |

As someone observed over on HTF, the Kino Insider previously said they had 1 Elizabeth Taylor film (not specified as being in the Universal deal, but I can't see many other MGM or StudioCanal possibilities). After Shout announced Boom! yesterday, it seems as though the title in question could well be Secret Ceremony.

Is CONFESSIONS OF A POLICE CAPTAIN (M.Balsam/F.Nero) with StudioCanal? It was an Embassy release on VHS. I'd love to see this on disc.
