The one possibility that immediately comes to mind is the Amityville Horror remake, though that's solely because it's now the last MGM-released horror Blu yet to receive another release by a boutique label. I'm not convinced it is this though (I wouldn't call it a box office hit), just throwing it out there.

Great news!... will these be released as individual blu-rays or in a box set?

Hope you can make it a ongoing Series and release additional exploitation features to blu-ray like: Cocaine Fiends, Assassin of Youth, Devil's Harvest, etc

I've not seen this one at all, so I'll definitely be on board. I'd love it if some day they also snagged the pre-code Paramount titles MURDERS IN THE ZOO, and MURDERS BY THE CLOCK.

We're sorry, but we're not changing the font and we hope you're not serious about not purchasing a release 'cause you're happy with the font.
Not to go all Mystic Geoff - as it's very easy to do after the fact - but I guessed that this was the case, not about all the release forms and stuff but that you changed the colour of Hannibal's mush and also the font of the title to make it stand out from previous releases as best you could.

Alas, it's no good to me as I has got to import it. But I'm glad that it's going to be carried on US store shelves nonetheless. As an import I can see this costing upwards of £30 quid, probably nearer £40, but I wants it!!

I know both Kino and Olive have released Monogram films on blu...titles such as Invisible Ghost, Return of the Ape Man, Voodoo Man, etc....as a result of their dealings with Paramount. Acknowledging that Kino has no current deal with Paramount, I just had a broader question(s): to what degree does Paramount have Monogram titles to license? MGM seems to have some, too...the Charlie Chan films, The Face of Marble, etc. Just curious how many have good 35mm elements with studios and how they even ended up with them. Titles like Kidnapped ending up at Warners I think I get, as Monogram evolved into Allied Artists, most of which stuff ended up at WB. But how did MGM and Paramount acquire stuff? And are the elements for most of this stuff M.I.A., so good luck of seeing many more emerge on blu (not even taking into account the dampening effect on sales that so many budget label releases have had)? I'd love to see blus of the remaining Lugosi titles, the East Side Kids films, etc.

I’m very curious about this too — even generally speaking in the boutique home media label industry, I’ve wondered how many units a particular release has to sell before being considered a “good seller.” 1,000? 3,000? Will Hannibal have to sell 5,000 or 10,000 UHDs before Kino will deem the format worth further investment?

Really? That's amazing! I just watched the Kino DVD a week ago. It's still so amazingly sleazy, and a real stunner for anyone who's never seen an "adults only" roadshow picture from this time. Esper really let his imagination run wild into the realms of relentless bad taste on this one.

When I was teen in the early '80s my local PBS station did a month of un-cut exploitation films, with this one among them. I always wondered if they knew about the acts of sadism and fleeting bits of nudity, or just figured they needn't worry about a film from 1934 and let it roll?

As someone observed over on HTF, the Kino Insider previously said they had 1 Elizabeth Taylor film (not specified as being in the Universal deal, but I can't see many other MGM or StudioCanal possibilities). After Shout announced Boom! yesterday, it seems as though the title in question could well be Secret Ceremony.

For the region-free among you saddened that Kino's deal does not include Rough Night in Jericho - despair not, it's being released in Germany in a couple of months:

I love SECRET CEREMONY, but if it's not the title to be released I'd like to say that I wouldn't mind THE DRIVER'S SEAT. It's always exciting to get cinematographer Vittorio Storaro's work in HD (e.g. the recent BD of THE FIFTH CORD).

That would figure, I just bought a decent Spanish import of Secret Ceremony, but I'd be up for a Blu-ray upgrade. It's pretty unique.

I'd love Night Watch, but I think that's WB. As long as it's not Doctor Faustus.

Coming April 23rd on Blu-ray!

The House of the Seven Gables (1940) with optional English subtitles
• Audio Commentary by Film Historian Troy Howarth
• Trailers

B&W 89 Minutes 1.37:1 Not Rated
Jealousy, loyalty, and a family feud between two brothers are all at play in The House of the Seven Gables, based on the classic novel by Nathaniel Hawthorne (Twice-Told Tales). The sudden death of Jaffrey (George Sanders, The Lodger) and Clifford (Vincent Price, Tales of Terror) Pyncheon’s father provides the vengeful and vindictive Jaffrey with the perfect opportunity to get his brother out of the way and seize the family fortune. Framed for murder and forced to leave his fiancée (Margaret Lindsay, Scarlet Street) behind, Clifford is sent off to prison, where he befriends Matthew Holgrave (Dick Foran, Fort Apache), the descendent of the Maule family, with whom the Pyncheons have a long history of turbulence. Can the two join together to foil Jaffrey, or are the families destined to repeat the mistakes of the past and live out the curse of their ancestors? Joe May (Asphalt) directed this classic thriller featuring Cecil Kellaway (Harvey) and Alan Napier (The Uninvited).

Coming April 23rd on Blu-ray!

The Strange Door (1951) with optional English subtitles
• Audio Commentary by Film Historians Tom Weaver, David Schecter and Dr. Robert J. Kiss
• Trailers

B&W 81 Minutes 1.37:1 Not Rated
Screen legends Charles Laughton (Witness for the Prosecution) and Boris Karloff (Black Sabbath) haunt the dungeons of a medieval château in this horrific adaptation of the classic Robert Louis Stevenson (The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde) story. Laughton, the Sire de Maletroit, is an evil French nobleman, so obsessed with hatred of his own brother (Paul Cavanagh, A Bill of Divorcement) that he imprisons him in the castle dungeon. The Sire also tries to destroy the life of his brother’s daughter (Sally Forrest, Not Wanted) by forcing her to marry a rogue (Richard Stapley, The Girl from Rio), but his plans are upset when they fall in love. Aided by Voltan (Karloff), an abused servant, the lovers attempt to escape, but the Sire imprisons them in a cell with closing walls that may spell violent deaths for the young lovers. Directed by Joseph Pevney (Female on the Beach).

Is CONFESSIONS OF A POLICE CAPTAIN (M.Balsam/F.Nero) with StudioCanal? It was an Embassy release on VHS. I'd love to see this on disc.
