Sony UBP-X700 4K UHD Blu-ray player

Thanks, I thought it worked the other way around as well.

I found a Panny UB820 open box at best buy for $399, so I think I'm going to return the Sony.

Been thinking about picking up that They Live steelbook

Other than the DV setting, what does everyone else use for their A/V settings for this player? It seems auto is the way to go for almost everything.

I recently noticed when watching A Trip to the Moon, in the beginning, a camera icon appears in the top right-hand corner. Does anyone have any idea what this means? I can't seem to find any information about it in the manual or online.

That’s a multi-angle indicator. So there’s an alternate video stream while the icon is showing.

yes, ALL UHD's are "ALL REGION/REGION FREE!" so, go ahead and order that movie, it will play in your non "ALL REGION/REGION FREE" UHD player!

as I've said before UHD is region free. the reason it shows region B is because the release has a HD Blu-ray disc as well as a UHD disc. the HD Blu-ray disc is region B locked. so, if you have a UHD player, (like the X700) your good to go for the UHD disc, but, the X700 or any other non region free modded player will NOT play the HD Blu-ray Region B locked disc it (the player) will need to be region free to play the Region B disc.

I've probably played 25-30 UHD's on mine and had one freeze on Ready Player one, I rewinded it and it played fine. I also had played RPO a couple times on the Samsung and it played fine so maybe the freeze was due to the player.

thanks I never new this. I just upgraded my tv to 4k and got the 700 player to. before I did this I have a sony region free player. so now I am looking more to purchase 4k movies. and the 700 is not region free. so what you told me makes me feel better now. thanks for teaching me something. have a great day.

Hey, I have the same problem with LG Oled E6 - no picture when DV is on. Funny thing, it used to work just fine, but then, at some point it suddenly stopped working. And I know it’s not a TV problem, since my other LG player plays DV just fine. Did you ever find the solution, I wonder?

Same for me but it was "Cliffhanger" that jammed the player. I just reset the player, used a disc cleaner and everything was working perfectly right after.
