I can't see Disney not releasing it in the UK considering they released The Lion King in the UK, unless if The Lion King sold disastrously poorly in the UK. |

I don't want to derail the Little Mermaid thread a lot further, but I believe it's possible you will see a different transfer for some select titles and Cinderella is a very likely candidate due to its popularity and the age of its previous restoration.

The Itunes version updates now the bonus of The Little Mermaid and his sequels.
For the sequels, the bonus has been the same set as the 2013 blu-ray. For the original movie, here's the running times of the new bonus (outside the music video and the Walt office) included in the ''Featured Extra'': -Alan Menken & the Leading Ladies Sing (15,40 minutes) -“What I Want From You…Is YOUR VOICE” (5,49 minutes) -“Part of Your World” – A 30-Year Retrospective (5,50 minutes) -#TreasuresUntold (5,42 minutes) In addition, the Itunes version included a image galleries in Itunes exclusive. The Image galleries has been included in the Platinum DVD, but not in the Diamond blu-ray. Note: the rest of bonus features has only in the section Under the scenes in Itunes. I have not info about the two others new bonus features of this edition, because the two new bonus has been included in four parts for the section Under the Scenes. |

I know the disc version that will come out later this month will be better due to higher bitrate, it would be worth checking out the digital version to see how the 4K Transfer is.

Just checked out the 4K version on Movies Anywhere as they are already up. Interesting news, folks, this is a new master but seems to be the original 4K source not an upscale. Providers even list it as a separate version, so if you already own the Diamond Edition digital version, you end up with a second copy for the Signature Release.
Picture: compared to the Diamond Edition, it looks even more fantastic than before. The source is definitely true to the original in it’s grain and color and it’s a relief to see this is another release free from DNR and scrubbing. Detail: You can clearly see the difference seconds into the movie. Lines are clearly defined and even more blurry water scenes are pristine and unlike any Reese’s I have personally seen from this era. Lines are clear and look hand painted, grain is present but looks natural and organic. Compared to the diamond release there is less grain and more defined details which is a result of the 4K scab not up scaling or digital processing. Color: Color looks amazing and even though I haven’t had a chance to check out the Dolby Vision version yet (as Vudu is about to release it midnight) the colors are more vibrant and defined but not popping and unrealistic. Under the sea is colorful and bright, the overture is muted but brilliant and radiant in spectrum of soft colors, kiss the girl is magical in it’s contrasts. Changes: this is basically the Diamond edition release BUT they fixed the scenes from the Diamond / 3D editing errors. The disc replacement and digital releases corrected the dissolve cut in Scuttle’s introduction and the error in Part if your world. This release also has the corrected versions. HOWEVER, they also went all out to correct Grimsby’s hand in the balcony scene and adjusted the copyright of the rerelease to 2018 along with 89. I never thought they would go back and fix this tiny detail which I’m so happy about. Seems like they truly treated this film with respect and love. It looks amazing and trust me, as my favorite Disney film, my expectations were high! The master seems taken straight from the 4K source, colors are natural and vibrant, contrasts and details sharp and detailed yet organic to the pre CAPS source. No scrubbing and DNR and all the editing errors are fixed. I bet the Blu-Ray will even look more perfect than the digital. For all Mermaid fans, I dare say, this might be the ultimate release for this film and I would even go as far as calling it an experience so close to the source it can deliver a release day theatre experience on demand. Wow! |

Did they move the "Walt Disney Pictures presents" text back to its original position over the hiding/revealing coral and reinstate the "In Association with Silver Screen Partners IV" text in front the jellyfish during the opening titles? Did they fix the piece of torn film seen at the upper-right corner of the frame where Ariel and Eric jump off Giant Ursula?

The Movie Anywhere is now update the bonus features. Most of all old bonus features are included, but one bonus has been a huge lost: The match Little Girl (inspird by fairy tales of Hans Anderson), a short created for the Platinum DVD and included in HD for the Diamond Edition (in blu-ray and Digital) has been dropped for this released.

I didn’t have a chance to check out the audio in detail. seems to be the same as the same as the Diamond edition but vudu also offers an atmos option.
The titles remain the same as in the Diamond edition, no Silverscreen, WDP presents is moved to the earlier shot, then gap until it lines up with the original from the title logo. The titles seem really crisp though, wonder if they reimposed them Have to check out the torn film strip scene as well. Personally thought it was a cool detail hinting at the film-based origin of the movie. Hope this helps, also sorry for typos, on my phone haha |
