It's like I'm standing on a railroad track right now and I've got some Greyhound headed straight towards me at full speed without the horn, without even an attempt at hitting the breaks, and I have the blindfold over my eyes, I'm smoking that last cigarette, shrugging my shoulders and saying: "I'm not worried about that train's momentum." So be it. I hope these fools really feel serious pain after Christmas time and I hope they lose their jobs for it. ^^ Career suicide, in paper, on the record. Graffeo, Kornblau...does anyone at Universal know their a__ from a hole in the wall out there?! |

HD-A2 are already close to selling at $199. They may already be doing so in some cases.
I don't think, even if it is sponsored (Toshiba waives royalties), that it possible for a $199 SRP player at this time. BOM: Drive: $50 SoC: $20 CPU: $40 Misc: $50 Royalties: $40 Cost: $200 For $199 SRP, the cost must be around $120 I suppose if MS-Toshiba give away the drives, pay the non-Toshiba royalties, and waive the Toshiba royalties it could be done. I know talking with hardware insiders that they are very angry with Toshiba. You can imagine what the BD studios think of Kornblau right now. Must be nice to have that level of golden handshake clause. Gary |

It's not just individuals, either. Toshiba, Microsoft, and Universal Studios are going to be increasingly cast in a very negative light thanks to certain individuals from within their walls. Responsible corporate citizens (if there any left in those companies) sorely need to wake up soon, smell the coffee, smell whatever they have to ![]() Quote:

I absolutely will not and neither will a growing number of others.
I, for one, agree whole-heartedly!!!! |

Noone likes their (WB's) HD DVD/DVD flippers, so what makes 'em think that BD/HD DVD flippers will be received any better? I *like* silk screened art work on my discs--and the cost saving is an added bonus.

Assume 10% less yield for a flipper combo, and a 15% real world failure rate, the real cost of a HD DVD/DVD combo is: (1 + 1.4) * 1.2 * 1.1 * 1.15 = 3.64x DVD That is WAY above BD-25, and probably now well above BD-50. Gary |

I think if it came down to buying a TotalHD disc or buying a SD DVD, I'd buy the DVD, just so I didn't support HD DVD. There's absolutely no reason for people to buy two different players to serve the exact same purpose. While I'm at it I'll buy another stove, one to cook chicken in, and the other to cook beef. Some people just don't think.

Lol. I wish more people used common sense logic. It's like these developers see the confusion and now want to make as much money from it as they can. |

Talk about losing sight of your market. How does somebody who must be reasonably intelligent get so disjointed from reality?
