I don't believe the guy I bought it from is an authorized dealer, no. Whether or not APC will honor it, I haven't heard that. Seems like kind of a shabby deal for a company to not honor their standard manufacturer's warranty for a product fresh out of the box. I'm not too concerned about it though. The reliability record on the device is pretty good from what I've read.

It says so on Panamax's website. On the bottom right hand side of their website. Check it out. I can't make this stuff up.

I don't doubt you at all Cisco. ![]() I was kind of shocked when I saw that on their website. I just think it's kind of cheap to be forced by a company to pay a premium for a product ("you have to buy it here, at this price") in order for them to honor their warranty. All those folks who bought one new on eBay or wherever are on their own without even a standard manufacturer's warranty? APC's website has an online warranty registration form. "Purchased From" is not a required field, only the date and country. Edit: I would recommend to everyone who buys one to fill the form out and establish ownership of your unit for purposes of their Warranty and Equipment Protection Policy. https://www.apcc.com/support/inter_w...TOKEN=73251185 Last edited by Bluray_ne1; 02-07-2009 at 12:00 AM. |

A couple of questions for those of you who already own one: I have a few devices with the largers "pack" type of plugs, would these fit in any of the outlets? Also, my cable line has occasional interference on it, would this conditioner, or any conditioner for that matter, correct this? Thanks for any help, Tim.

Good question Gray.
No kidding Bluray. Regardless where a product is bought it should be backed by the manufacturer!! Now if it was an open box or used, different story.. buyer beware kind of deal. If its sealed, signed, delivered, with the proper forms panamax should respond for their product. Real shady. ![]() |

I have seen products that allow the larger power cords to be plugged into a power strip. I think they are called pigtails or liberators if I remember correctly. They are usually anywhere from 6-18 inches in length. Some are single while others have multiple plugs going into one.
Maybe try a google search. I;m too lazy right now to look it up and give a link. ![]() |

It will only be as good as its weakest link so a cheap power strip will allow interference after the signal has been filtered. The quality of the components and the jacketing used on the wires will determine this.
The fact that the signal has gone through the conditioner should take care of most problems, the power strip may let a little back in, but unless its the cheapest of cheap, I don't think you'd notice any change. What are you plugging in that has the transformer style plugs? As for the cable interference....its a similar answer. If the interference is caused by shielding, than yes, it can clean that up some. If it's just a bad signal, then the issue is at the source and can only be cleaned up there. |

"Isolated noise filter banks mean each bank is isolated from each other and not each individual outlet. I will attach some additional details about this feature below: Filter Banks improve sound and video for systems affected by electro-magnetic and radio frequency interference on the AC utility line. Banks are isolated to prevent device noise from polluting other connected components. Each filter bank is specifically tuned to filter noise for a particular class of component. Specific filter banks are provided for Digital, Analog and High-Current components. Unlike filters from many competitors, APC's High-Current filter also protects high-powered amplifiers and subwoofers, without compromising their ability to draw high currents during periods of peak sound output. It is not necessary to plug an amplifier into a separate wall outlet." |

I Asked: "If I buy the item new and factory sealed, in this case an APC H15, from an internet seller who is not an authorized reseller, but I register the product properly, I am covered by the manufacturer's warranty?" They Answered: "Yes, this is correct. Obviously, we would recommend using an APC authorized reseller whenever possible since in these cases, they have registered with us and may have participated in on line training courses etc. However, if you are comfortable with the reseller and feel they are reputable, there should be no issue...However, in general terms the warranty is non transferable so used items sold on eBay, for example, would not have a new 2 year warranty associated with them and refurbished or reworked units may also come with a 90 day limited warranty. Something I did see in the standard warranty text that caught my attention: "This warranty applies only to the original purchaser who must have properly registered the product within 10 days of purchase." When mine finally arrives, I'm plugging it in, making sure it works and filling out my online registration form. Last edited by Bluray_ne1; 02-10-2009 at 12:49 AM. |

Well, surges still travel through cable cables - would defeat the purpose of surge protection if you let this one slide. Come on now. Proud part of the original terrible trio of APC H15 owners, Johk, Slec, and myself, ![]() ![]() |
